…The American legal system has a message for women concerned about their abortion rights: Don’t make the mistake of thinking that your pharmacist is your friend.
Thanks to a gaping loophole in federal healthcare regulations, some of our leading drug store chains turn over customers’ most sensitive private healthcare information to law enforcement agencies, even without a warrant.
That’s the finding of a subcommittee headed by Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), which learned that all eight of the nation’s largest pharmacy chains have routinely turned over prescription records of thousands of Americans to law enforcement agencies or other government entities secretly without a warrant…
…It’s difficult to articulate the scale and cruelty of their vision, but I’ll try: This is a coalition of the most powerful anti-abortion groups in the country, coming together to change legislation, medical norms, patient care and more. They don’t just want to ban abortion in cases of fatal fetal abnormalities—but do away with prenatal testing altogether. It is massive, well-funded and terrifying. And they’ve launched it right under our noses.
I want you to think about that last part. They are waging a battle to prevent expectant mothers from being able to GET THE TESTS THAT WOULD INFORM THEM IF SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH THEIR CHILD.
I want women in this country to understand. The forced birthers will not be happy until abortion is outlawed IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY. They don’t care.
And, I want you to completely understand this..
THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS IN RED STATES. Because, you can’t FIND any exceptions that have allowed abortions.
January is National Hot Tea Month. Like poetry, tea has its own personality, its own unique flavor, and its own attitude. When reading a collection of poetry, or any book for that matter, what is your favorite cuppa tea flavor? Is it herbal, black, green, white, or oolong? Do you add, honey, milk, or sugar?…
I am sharing Sally & Debby’s funnies over at the Smorgasbord Blog to give you something to laugh about! Thanks to Debbie Gies and Sally Cronin for always being able to lift our spirits!
Today marks National Youth Day, observed on January 12th since 1985 to honor the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda (1863–1902), an eminent Indian Hindu monk, philosopher, and spiritual leader.
Renowned for his impactful address at the 1893 World’s Parliament of Religions in the US, he introduced Hinduism to America and advocated for religious tolerance, urging an end to fanaticism.
Something startled me in the deep of night
Opening my eyes, I saw a figure in the moon’s pale light
So W T F was that?
Was it a vampire morphing into a bat?
Sneaking in to sate his blood thirsty appetite.
