फर्क / Difference – Kaushal Kishore

चाहे मैं तुम्हें देखूं या तुम मुझे देखो,

बात एक ही है,

लेकिन फिर भी फर्क होता है बहुत

देखने के अंदाज में…

✨✨✨✨✨✨

As I look your way or you look at me,

Seemingly alike, angles reveal disparity…

In our shared glance, a dance so slight,

Differences concealed in our stance’s light…

Calories – How does my body really work?

Calories are the amount of energy released when your body breaks down or digest and absorbs food. The more calories a food has, the more energy it can provide to your body. The amount of energy in an item of food or drink is measured in calories. We often think of calories as something we eat but the truth is a calorie is simply a unit of energy.

A Perspective I Hadn’t Thought Of Before | Filosofa’s Word

I’m stepping a bit outside my usual political snarky voice today.  I stumbled across a piece in The Washington Post a couple of weeks ago … an OpEd written by Anne Lamott … that I found so … so real and so relevant that I just had to share it, for it is reflective of my own views on aging and the world we live in.  Ms. Lamott is a novelist and non-fiction writer, as well as a progressive political activist, public speaker, and writing teacher.  Though she is three whole years younger than I, so much of what she says here is relatable and relevant to me that I just had to share it.

In the garden of the soul,

a rose unfolds— self-love,

its thorns —compass needles that guard

the heart’s true north – compassion.

~With roots that delve into the soil of being,

Acceptance blooms in every hidden space,

flaws and strengths stems of fragrant grace.

Self-love—an ode and hymnal

to the Creator (Source).
