Formed in Sacramento by two Filipina sisters, Jean and June Millington, the group known as Fanny would be the first all-female band to release an album on a major label (their self-titled debut, on Reprise, 1970) and land four singles in the Billboard Hot 100–the title track from their 1971 album Charity Ball, a cover of Marvin Gaye’s “Ain’t That Peculiar” (as seen above), “I’ve Had It,” and finally “Butter Boy,” their highest chart success, at #29 in 1975. That last track was Jean Millington’s song about David Bowie, with whom she’d had a brief fling while touring the UK.

build iron-clad doors
Situated at one of the entrances to the largest ancient castle complex in the world (Prague Castle, Czech Republic) is The Basilica of the Assumption of Our Lady in Strahov Monastery (Strahov Monastery), originally constructed circa 1183 and later rebuilt from 1742 to 1758.
**The featured doors, dating back to the eighteenth century, are made of wood with highly ornate iron cladding overlay. (Close-up images of the doors are provided below.)

Trivia #1: Strahov Monastery including its Basilica, Library, and Philopher Hall is famous for its gobsmacking baroque architecture with bohemian influences.
Filled from floor to ceiling with ancient books most of them various illustrated versions of the gospels, Strahov Monastery’s Theological Library and Philospher Hall are the most filmed-in locations in Prague.
Strahov Monastery Library has appeared in films standing in for The British Museum in The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2002), the House of Lords in 007: Casino Royale (Daniel Craig, 2006), and The Vatican in The Omen (2006) –(Image below)

Trivia #2: Rumor has it that in 1787, Wolfgang A. Mozart practiced on the original organ of Strahov Monastery’s Basilica. Modified over the years, the organ still stands as the largest organ in the city.

Snarky Snippets Are Running Wild! | Filosofa’s Word
Some days the snarky just fills my head and feels like if I don’t let it out, it’s going to explode! Today is one such day, so fasten your seat belts and hang onto your hats! Where to start …?
You likely remember that when he was in the Oval Office, Donald Trump installed three uber-conservative Supreme Court justices (Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, & Barrett) and made no bones about the fact that he hoped the court would overturn Roe v Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court ruling that protected a woman’s right to make her own healthcare decisions regarding abortion. Two years ago, the Supreme Court did just that, and Trump bragged that he was responsible for it. Publicly bragged about setting women’s rights back 100 years.
Fast forward to the New York Times/Sienna College poll that has gotten so much attention this week. One of the questions on the poll was: Is Biden or Trump More Responsible for Ending Roe? Incredibly, 17% of respondents overall said that President Biden is responsible for ending Roe v Wade. President Biden has long been a vocal supporter of a woman’s right to make her own decision … it was Donald Trump who orchestrated this mess! Where are people’s brains? (Word of warning: you’ll hear me ask that question many, many times in the coming months) Even stranger is that even more Republicans than Democrats believe Biden is responsible for it … 22%! 🙄…

Universal Values – Silent Songs of Sonsnow
“In the modern world, where the pursuit of money is considered more important than the cultivation of inner values, a fresh approach is required to incorporate secular ethics or universal values into the system of education.”
