Open Thread | D- Day, 80 Years Later | 3CHICSPOLITICO

Back when we understood that the only good Nazi was a dead Nazi.
It’s been moving, seeing the last of the WWII soldiers make their way over to Normandy for the D-Day celebrations. Watching the old soldiers being thanked by the new soldiers.
The imagery at the American cemetery of all those soldiers lost…all those white crosses. The simplicity of using the sand to bring out the names of the fallen soldier. All incredibly moving.
