« Les livres de Barbara valent bien le détour pour vous et vos enfants. La vie amazonienne, pour les communautés autochtones et la faune sauvage, est au bord du précipice. Peut-être qu’en apprendre davantage et soutenir leur existence pourrait inverser la tendance ! »

Not Broken But Hurt – Belladonna’s Flashlight

No one is too broken to be fixed. In fact, you are not broken, but you are hurt and need to be healed!

There was a time when I believed the problem was me, that my soul was irreparably broken. I remember feeling this way after a particularly harsh criticism from someone I used to know. I initially dismissed it as a figment of my imagination but soon realized I wasn’t the one at fault.

I’m just the way God planned for me to be!

If my directness or boldness unsettles you, then the issue doesn’t rest with me; it’s yours to bear. Embracing my space and voicing my thoughts is a treasure I hold dear, a testament to the power I’ve found in accepting myself. Allowing someone to walk arrogantly into my life, tell me who they think I am, and expect me to believe them is a game I choose to play.

You see, I only play the games that I know I’ll win!

This person thought I was broken, I was hurt and needed healed, there’s a difference.

When you’re broke, brokish, and broke like, people will feel like they can talk to you and treat you any way they please. And they will have you believing that you are too broken to be fixed. But honey, let me tell you. As soon as — and I do mean as soon as you (ASAP)—find your voice, your strength, your power, and conclude that you are not broken. You’re just hurt and need to be healed; no one will have the nerve to speak negativity over you.

Now, what they say and do behind your back is between them and God! And that’s known of your business.

Focus on you, not them!

No matter what you have been through in life, you can be healed

It doesn’t matter how broken you feel at this moment you can be healed

I don’t care how many people have lost hope in you; you can be healed

If no one has ever told you that you can be fixed, then lean close and repeat after me: I am not too broken to be fixed. In fact, I’m not broken; I’m just hurt and need to be healed!

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

Gov. Hochul considering banning people from wearing masks on NYC subways – Gothamist

(Me: So, if you are a New Yorker or a visitor who has the flu, Covid or TB, you would not be able to protect others from your disease… or if you are immunosuppressed you would not be able to ride a subway and protect yourself or would have wear a badge or triangle patch saying you were ill or immunosuppressed?)  Source: Gov. The Christian right is coming for no-fault divorce – Vox

…Today, however, a counter-revolution is brewing: Conservative commentators and lawmakers are calling for an end to no-fault divorce, arguing that it has harmed men and even destroyed the fabric of society. Oklahoma state Sen. Dusty Deevers, for example, introduced a bill in January to ban his state’s version of no-fault divorce. The Texas Republican Party added a call to end the practice to its 2022 platform (the plank is preserved in the 2024 version). Federal lawmakers like Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) and House Speaker Mike Johnson, as well as former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson, have spoken out in favor of tightening divorce laws.

If this sounds outlandish or like easily dismissed political posturing — surely Republicans don’t want to turn back the clock on marital law more than 50 years — it’s worth looking back at, say, how rhetorical attacks on abortion, birth control, and IVF have become reality.

And that will cause huge problems, especially for anyone experiencing abuse. “Any barrier to divorce is a really big challenge for survivors,” said Marium Durrani, vice president of policy at the National Domestic Violence Hotline. “What it really ends up doing is prolonging their forced entanglement with an abusive partner…”
