Black Cat – Anthony’s Crazy Love and Life Lessons in Empathy

Soft steps on padded foot

Claws withdrawn defense moot.

He finds a quiet place to hide

Black tail flits as he gently glides.

Acting site unseen

Thinking he got away Scott clean.

Dark as midnight scurries away

While masters here, he will play…

Filosofa Has Thoughts 😱 | Filosofa’s Word

…I find it so ironic … so very ironic … that those who claim to be “pro-life” ardently support the expanded and unfettered sale and use of killing machines.  It’s as if they are saying to their child, “Now, I don’t want you to cut yourself, so here’s a nice sharp knife.  Now run along and play.”  The U.S. Supreme Court last year renounced a woman’s right to make her own health decisions in their ruling on the Dobbs case.  Sure, they claimed they were only giving the decision back to the individual states to decide, but they knew exactly how most states would react, they knew they were signing women’s rights away.  All because they claim they cherish every life, even the one that is a single cluster of cells that may never become a life.

And then, a year later, they turn around and reverse a ban on bump stocks, an accessory for guns that makes them shoot much faster, saying it is every citizen’s right to have as much firepower as they want.  And yet … it isn’t a woman’s right to make decisions about her own body?

Anybody who calls themself “pro-life” is so full of horse hockey that they stink from miles away!!!  Those of us who are truly “pro-life” would love to see all guns banned forever, all nuclear weapons destroyed and never rebuilt, and all people given the right to make their own healthcare decisions without interference from people wearing black robes and sitting smugly in courtrooms.

I was reading the news this morning when a thought occurred to me:  one of the things that sets the Republicans apart from the rest of us is their seemingly uncontrollable sex drive.  Think about it … this morning’s story was about Matt Gaetz (again) being investigated by a House Ethics committee for “sexual misconduct”.  This isn’t the first time … investigations are still ongoing into his interstate sex trafficking charges.

Then there’s Lauren Boebert, who while in the process of a divorce from her husband, was tossed out of a movie theater for having ‘hand sex’ with a boyfriend. Can you imagine Nancy Pelosi ever doing such a thing in public?   And former House member Madison Cawthorn, who was credibly accused of sexual abuse (there were more than 20 witnesses who testified) and even produced a film of him sexually abusing another man.

Oh, and let’s not forget the biggest sexual predator of the lot, Donald Trump, who has been accused by multiple women of rape and sexual harassment, and who declared on a public radio station that it was okay to ‘grab’ women’s private parts simply because he was wealthy.  He has been convicted on multiple counts of sexual abuse and owes millions of dollars to the victims.

Seems to me that this may be one of the problems with those who call themselves ‘conservatives’ … they are oversexed!

Well, this seems to have turned into a bit of a rant, and my cat is displeased by my pounding of the keyboard while he’s trying to get pats, so I will stop for now and return you to whatever you were doing a few minutes ago!  Happy Wednesday!

IDF Spokesman Hagari: ‘Whoever thinks it’s possible to destroy Hamas is mistaken’ | Israel National News – Arutz Sheva

IDF Spokesman Daniel Hagari

IDF Spokesman Daniel HagariAvshalom Sassoni/Flash90IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari admitted on Wednesday that it would be impossible to eliminate Hamas.

“Hamas is an idea,” he explained in an interview with Channel 13, “Whoever thinks that it’s possible to make it disappear is mistaken…”

…When asked if the Palestinian Authority could replace Hamas in the Gaza Strip, he answered that “the political echelon has to decide. Saying that it’s possible to destroy Hamas and to make it disappear is to throw dust into the public’s eyes…”

दूरी / Distance – Kaushal Kishore

मत जाओ इतनी दूर मुझसे

कि मुझे आवाज देकर बुलाना पड़े…

मैं नहीं चाहता कोई तीसरा

जाने हमारे प्यार की दूरी के बारे में…

Don’t stray so far away,

don’t make me shout…

Let’s keep this gap a secret,

let’s not let it out…

The Top 10 Most Polluted Beaches 🌊

“The community of Imperial Beach is bearing the brunt of this environmental disaster,” she wrote in a recent letter to the White House. “Pollution in the Tijuana River remains the most urgent environmental justice issue in San Diego County…. An entire generation of children is growing up in South San Diego County, having only experienced polluted beaches.”

Research from the Scripps Institute of Oceanography, with funding from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), attributes 34,000 illnesses in calendar year 2017 to water quality pollution along the Imperial Beach coastline.

And this beach in San Diego is not alone.

For example, Park View Kayak Launch in Miami, Florida, Ballard Park in Melbourne, Florida, and Playa Crashboat in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, are all popular spots for families to enjoy a fun day at the beach or in the water, but they are also all affected by old, failing sewage infrastructure.

Three of the top 10 most polluted locations mentioned in the report are located in California. At Linda Mar Beach in Pacifica, more than half the samples had unsafe bacteria levels, as well as the mouth of the San Luis Obispo Creek in San Luis Obispo, where 35 percent of the samples had unsafe levels.

Step-by-Step Guide to Propagating Sage from Cuttings – Ideas and Advice for How To Live a Joyful and Empowered Life.

  1. Get Sage Cuttings: Obtain healthy sage cuttings that are 4-6″ long. You can take these cuttings any time during the growing season.
  2. Prepare the Cuttings:
    • Remove leaves from the bottom of the sage stem leaving a few leaves at the top (with less leaves, the cutting will have more energy for root development). Roots will develop where the leaves have been taken off.
    • Dip the cut end, and bottom areas where leaves have been taken off, in rooting hormone powder (optional but increases chances for root development and helps speed up the process).
  3. Plant in Soil or Water:
    • For soil propagation:
      • Plant the cutting in well-draining soil.
      • Water thoroughly and keep watered through the rooting process.
    • For water propagation:
      • Submerge the stem (not the leaves) in a glass of water, changing the water if it gets dirty.
  4. Wait for Roots: Be patient! It takes time for roots to grow. Expect roots to develop in 3-4 weeks or more. As long as the cutting is still healthy, just keep it in the soil or water until roots develop.
  5. Pot Up or Transplant: Once roots are established, pot up your new sage plant or transplant it to the garden.

Enjoy your homegrown sage!
