Donald Trump was quick to release a statement about the deadly terrorist attack in New Orleans. He said that the attacker was an immigrant, proving that his anti-immigrant warnings were right. He rushed to judgment.
“When I said that the criminals coming in are far worse than the criminals we have in our country, that statement was constantly refuted by Democrats and the Fake News Media, but it turned out to be true,” Trump posted on Truth Social Wednesday morning. “The crime rate in our country is at a level that nobody has ever seen before.”
But he was wrong. The perpetrator of the attack was born in Beaumont, Texas, and lived in Houston. Apparently he is also a military veteran.
Something went horribly wrong to turn this man into a mass murderer, but he was not an immigrant.
The Houston Chronicle reported:
Records show Jabbar was born in Texas. Misinformation circulated on social media that Jabbar was an immigrant or had crossed the U.S. Mexico border, including from President-elect Donald Trump on his Truth Social account.
“Sham,” as his classmates knew him, graduated from Beaumont’s Central High School in 2001. He was born and raised in Beaumont.
Grant Savoy, who was photographed with Jabbar in the 2001 high school yearbook, said the two took a couple classes together. He didn’t know him very well, as the high school had about 300 students that graduation year, but Savoy described Jabbar as “quiet.”
“He … didn’t seem like this guy I’m hearing about,” Savoy said. “But that was over 20 years ago, so I don’t know what life (has) done to him.”
Jabbar graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in computer information systems, the college confirmed.
Not an immigrant.

You were my enabler. You provoked and praised the most pitiful, pathetic parts of me. Letting go of you meant more than letting go of bad habits. It meant escaping a version of myself that I never desired to know.

Meiselas: You’re going to be at the inauguration?
Biden: Of course I am. The only president ever to avoid an inauguration is the guy about to be inaugurated.
Meiselas: He obviously did not make the transition easy for you—that would be putting it as delicately as I can. You’ve made the transition smooth. You’ve invited him to the White House. How do you square that with his rhetoric, what he’s done, what he’s threatened? To invite him here, sit with him in the Oval [Office], smile—how do you do that, and why?
Biden: Because it’s who we are as a nation. It’s how we’re supposed to be.

Lately, we hear the term Billionaires Club thrown around like a wipeout from a flood. Such mindsets and net worths are mind-blowing and mind-boggling. It leaves us thinking, “If only I had that kind of money or at least some of that, I’d be set for life!” Being rich typically means having a lot of possessions and material wealth, while being wealthy is more about having sustainable and lasting wealth, according to financial experts.
Some people are keen on becoming wealthy by any means necessary and the size of their bank accounts never seem to be enough. They are thirsty for more money, more wealth, and more status. Some New Year’s Resolutions include getting a better-paying job to make more money to provide for themselves and their family where applicable. There is nothing wrong with that. We take advantage of the opportunity to be in a better financial situation than we have before. That is a normal human condition.
Some people are buying into programs or ideologies, however, that will set them on the course to rapid wealth-building (or so they think), which they believe will lead them to live on Easy Street. Oh how we buy into such ‘conditioned thinking.’ They will see some of these program developers oftentimes showing royalty checks payable to them with massive sums that make you think you can easily accumulate such high returns too. Don’t fall for the okie-doke. I know I bought into such fabrication a few decades ago because I thought they were legit. Oh, they were legal to a degree because they side-stepped illegalities. I trusted a so-called friend many years ago who led me to believe that I was buying into a win-win situation to become better situated financially for my future. My investment went belly-up after the first few months. Buyers Remorse 101!
Can you be rich, but not financially wealthy according to the definition, where you have an abundance of money and valuable assets that catapult your net worth in an explosion of “gettin’ paid,” and padding your bank account as much as you can?

I learned that I am rich when I am able to walk when I see others who are wheelchair-bound. I learned I am rich when I can live in a house and not under the overpass of a bridge. I learned I was rich when I am able to fill my cupboards and refrigerator with food and not go hungry. I learned I am rich, when I can wake up and see the wonders of life and nature, when others can only imagine when something is described to them. I learned I am rich when I can engage in continued learning to improve my mind with academic achievements, when there are people who don’t have access to reading a book or getting an education. I’m rich, when I can give something hopeful and productive to lift others up (even if it is just a word or a listening ear) when some people are drowning in a sea of oppression, depression, alienation, and hopelessness.
-Kym Gordon Moore
So each day, I am building my wealth of ‘purpose’ to increase my net worth of hope-filled, Divine inner-light-driven assets to a higher level than it was last year. Look, I am not hating on the rich and wealthy, because they wouldn’t be, if it wasn’t for the “un-rich” people who helped them get to where they are. Yep, I’m claiming my wealth of richness, even if it isn’t financially magnanimous, without oppressing or derailing the hopes and dreams of others. What about you? How’s your wealth-building skills going?

This went to #1 in the UK and #3 in the U.S. Billy Idol did a version that became a #1 hit in the U.S. in 1987 and I am including it here, despite the fact that I do not like it, not one bit! I much prefer Tommy James and the Shondell’s original! Idols has too many effects that detract and distract from the music, but such was his way I suppose.

This morning was so picturesque I could not resist taking this photo – at 7.45, I had just left my bed and standing outside in my dressing gown for warmth, made the most of the view. And then I was going to move on, when I saw this.

They are bulding next to my home, but now the workers have their Christmas/New Year holidays, so the crows have decided to take over. They perch on the crane every morning, probably to enjoy the view from the top.
In the meanwhile, this afternoon, we have rain, wind and cold weather, so everything is now grey and damp.
