Garrett Hardin, a Morehead City, N.C., police officer, was accidentally shot by a fellow officer and critically injured Wednesday morning. The victim was participating in a tactical training exercise in the back parking lot of the police department.

A 13-year-old boy was shot and wounded in an apparent hunting accident near Whitney, Tex., Saturday night. The victim was packing up after hog hunting with his father when weapon discharged and he was struck in the stomach. No charges have been filed.

A group of Israeli settlers destroyed over 50 olive trees in the south Hebron hills on Thursday, locals said.
Palestinian farmer Jaber Ali Shatat told Ma’an that settlers from Susiya raided agricultural land next to the illegal settlement and damaged 50 trees.

Amir Rashad, 33, was shot and critically wounded while filming a rap video in Oakland, Calif., Saturday night. The victim, who performs under the name Kafani, was approached by a man who told him and his crew that he shouldn’t be filming there. As they were in the process of leaving, the gunman shot Rashad numerous times.

A 10-year-old girl was shot in the back in Chilhowie, Va., Saturday morning. Following a hunting trip, the victim’s father was unloading a firearm when it discharged and accidentally struck the girl. No word on charges.
Police: Boy,6, accidentally shot
A 6-year-old Rochester boy accidentally shot himself Sunday evening while playing with a handgun, according to Rochester Police.
The child was shot in the lower body inside a house on Rugraff Street, between Lyell Avenue and Jay Street, about 6:45 p.m. The boy, whose name was not released, was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, said Rochester Police Sgt. Elena Correia. He was listed in satisfactory condition Monday morning, she said.
Officers interviewed several adults who were in the house at the time of the incident, said Rochester Police Lt. Jeremy Anzalone. No charges were filed in connection with the shooting, which remained under investigation.

A 52-year-old man shot and wounded himself when he tried to remove a handgun from a leather holster so he could show the firearm to a friend, according to Yamhill County sheriff’s officials.
The incident took place Sunday afternoon in the 21000 block of Northeast Fairdale Road in Yamhill.
Police said the man, who was not identified, dropped the Colt .45 caliber black powder pistol as he was removing it from a holster. It discharged when it hit the ground.
The bullet entered the man’s abdomen, traveled upward and lodged in his neck. Police could see the bullet protruding from his skin. He was taken to a local hospital, where he had surgery and is listed in good condition.

A 13-year-old was accidentally shot in the arm at her house in Warren, Ohio, Wednesday afternoon. Police found a rifle at the scene, along with a magazine for .22-caliber ammunition and nine .22-caliber bullets.
