Initial media reports said the man had shouted “Heil Hitler” as police moved in to arrest him in the parking lot of a nearby school. But at a 5 PM news conference, John Douglass, the police chief of Overland Park, Kansas could not confirm what the man said.

Chief Douglass said it was too early to label the afternoon attack a hate crime, adding that whatever the motive, “It’s a vicious act of violence.”

30 Years After the Palm Sunday Massacre, Christina Rivera and Joanne Jaffe Tell Their Story – NYTimes.com

The bodies were discovered throughout the first-floor railroad flat in Brooklyn, a bizarre still-life of death. Many of the victims remained seated in chairs or couches; one woman’s hands still held a spoon and a small can of pudding.

It came to be known as the Palm Sunday Massacre, the largest mass shooting in the New York area in decades. Ten people were killed that day 30 years ago, including eight children. Only one survivor was found: a crying toddler covered in blood, crawling at the feet of the dead.

2 US lawmakers tour Aqsa with right-wing Jews | Maan News Agency

Two members of the US Congress on Thursday joined right-wing Jews who toured the al-Aqsa Mosque compound escorted by Israeli police officers, a Jerusalem-based Fatah official said.

Dimitri Daliani told Ma’an that Republicans Bill Johnson of Ohio and David McKinley of Virginia entered the compound with the “extremist” Chaim Richman, director of the rightist Temple Institute.

Daliani said the “congressmen’s participation in such criminal incursions into the al-Aqsa Mosque without being questioned by their own government indicates collusion with settler gangs whose aim is to hurt the al-Aqsa Mosque.”

Daliani urged Arab and Muslim communities in the United States districts represented by those representatives to “punish them at the ballots.”

“The fundamentalists that strike Christians also threaten the local Imam”, said the apostolic administrator of Mombasa – Fides News Agency

“I do not know who committed the attack against the Evangelical church, but most probably it was committed by a group of fundamentalists”, says to Fides Agency His Exc. Mgr. Emanuel Barbara, Bishop of Malindi and Apostolic Administrator of Mombasa, where yesterday, March 23, an attack was carried out against the evangelical Church of Likoni, during the Sunday celebration.

“I was not in Mombasa, but I was informed immediately over the phone by my collaborators about what had happened”, says Mgr. Barbara. “According to what I was told, a gunman came shooting out the back door of the church, while the other two accomplices were at the main door to prevent the faithful to escape. Four people died on the spot and 21 were injured”. According to local media, two of the people admitted to the hospital died later.

“The area of Mombasa is considered the stronghold of an Islamist movement of secession” adds the Bishop. “These groups even threaten the local Imam, accused of being moderate”.

“In Kenya – continues the Bishop – it is believed that these groups are funded by some businessmen in Mombasa. The majority of the members of these groups are young people from Somalia, but there are also local youth who shoot and kill just for money, not because they are religious fanatics”.

“Pray for us and especially for the conversion of the hearts of these young people, so they do not commit violence”, concluded Bishop Barbara. (L.M.) (Agenzia Fides 24/03/2014)
