I will remind people that the United States of America is the country that CREATED THE ASYLUM RULES. WE DID. And, we got the REST OF THE WORLD TO AGREE TO THEM. This is about NON-White people. Period. We don’t see this kind of franticness with our NORTHERN Border.

Ilhan Omar has become the target of a dangerous hate campaign | Moustafa Bayoumi | Opinion | The Guardian
In fact, we should be paying all kinds of attention to Omar’s words and actions. She is principled and outspoken against all types of human rights abuses, having criticized Saudi Arabia for its war in Yemen, spoken out against Chinese repression of the Uighur population, stood with the Sudanese people in their uprising, opposed American intervention in Venezuela, grilled Elliott Abrams about his atrocious human rights record, and more. She is a cosponsor of the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund, and has already introduced the Protect Against Unlawful Lobbying Act of 2019, and the Federal Worker Childcare Protection Act of 2019. Most recently, she cosponsored a bi-cameral bill to end Donald Trump’s Muslim ban. And she only began her job in January. It’s no wonder that so many people, some from her own party, want to shut Ilhan Omar up. She has a lot to say and she says it. I for one will be listening closely.
Steve Bannon ‘told Italy’s populist leader: Pope Francis is the enemy’ | World news | The Guardian
Bannon has steadily been building opposition to Francis through his Dignitatis Humanae Institute, based in a 13th-century mountaintop monastery not far from Rome. In January 2017, Bannon became a patron of the institute, whose honorary president is Cardinal Raymond Burke, an ultra-conservative who believes organised networks of homosexuals are spreading a “gay agenda” in the Vatican.

Instagram Stands By Laura Loomer Calling Ilhan Omar’s Islamic Faith ‘Cancer’ – Facebook, owner of Instagram, tolerates death threats for profit!
In Instagram and Twitter replies to the attacks, Omar opponents called for her deportation or murder. Death threats are against Twitter and Instagram’s terms of service. But both sites, as well as other social media platforms, like Facebook and YouTube, have been criticized for allowing violence to proliferate in violation of their rules. Threats piled into the comments on those sites, including in response to anti-Omar comments by the leader of the Republican National Committee.

Trump Disappointed Military Can’t Get ‘Rough’ At Border
At a fundraiser in San Antonio, Texas, President Trump expressed disappointment that his troops-rough-up-asylum-seekers-at-the-border fanfiction has yet to become a reality. “Our military can’t act like a military would act,” said Trump. “Because if they got a little rough, everybody would go crazy.” Trump also used the roundtable to spread more lies about dangerous migrants and the effectiveness of his fantasy wall. A Palestinian boy with a gun to his head asked if I was OK. I still think about him | Tariq Jordan | Opinion | The Guardian
As we sat silently, staring down the barrel of his gun, the 13-year-old boy sitting next to me turned and asked if I was all right. I simply nodded. He smiled at me and said: “Don’t worry, it will all be fine.” I suddenly felt rather embarrassed. Embarrassed that a 30-year-old man was being comforted by a child. The soldier began walking along the bus and at that moment I needed to feel good about myself. So what did I do? I acknowledged my sympathy. I felt for this kid sat next to me. I reminded myself no child should have to stare down the barrel of a gun. I reminded myself no child should have to feel the fear of death. I reminded myself this was all so wrong. And I ultimately reminded myself that my sympathy did nothing for my 13-year-old companion. This lad looked to me again and observed that I was nervous. “Smile, it will help!” he said before asking for my passport. I didn’t even question giving my British passport to a 13-year-old child. He placed the passport visibly on my lap and said something that made me realise my sympathy was futile. “This is Kryptonite, remember that.” The soldier arrived at my seat and pointed his gun in my young friend’s face, while the boy sho

Trump Complains to Congress About Providing Aid to Puerto Rico
Earlier this month, Puerto Rico’s government cut the island’s food stamps program by 25 percent, bringing it back down to the level it was at before the hurricane. An astonishing 43 percent island’s population currently relies on food stamps. After the House passed a bill in January allocating $600 million in emergency funding for food stamps in the territory, Trump called the bill “excessive and unnecessary.” It was also announced today that HUD will look into whether the White House has prevented disaster relief funding from reaching the island, in light of multiple private comments from Trump about his unwillingness to continue providing aid. “We are in the process of looking into whether there has been any interference and do plan to report back to Congress on what we find‚” Jeremy Kirkland, counsel to the HUD inspector general’s office, said in response to questions from Rep. Maxine Waters in front of the House Financial Services Committee.
