Erdogan: I am defender of women’s rights | News , Middle East | THE DAILY STAR

“It has been confirmed that he is suffering from foot in mouth syndrome”

“Nobody can slander me or my colleagues when it is obvious how I have personally defended women’s movement throughout my 40-year political career,” he said.

Erdogan, a devout Muslim, told an international conference on justice and rights for women on Monday that women should not be regarded as equal to men and claimed feminists in Turkey reject the idea of motherhood.

Erdogan also said justice rather than equality was what women needed, adding that manual labor work was against women’s “delicate nature”.

ZEN PENCILS » 166. PERCY BYSSHE SHELLEY: Ozymandias

Percy Bysshe Shelley (1792-1822) was an English poet. Ozymandias is Shelley’s most famous poem and was the result of a friendly competition between him and fellow poet Horace Smith. They often would have a poetry battle where a topic was chosen and they would only have 15 minutes to finish a sonnet. You can compare Shelley’s and Smith’s poems on Wikipedia and read an extensive history of the poem in this article by The Economist.

Ozymandias enjoyed a boost in popularity last year after it was used as the title for one of the final episodes of Breaking Bad. In this promo, Bryan Cranston ominously recites the poem in character as Walter White, king of meth dealers.

مذكرات ثائرة: Embracing Mesntruating Vaginas

“My mother talked to me about my body on several occasions, she told me about periods to stop me from asking what are pads used for in front of people. She told me that it would be a scandal if someone saw a blood stain on my clothes … That I should hide my periods as I should hide my naked body. After I got my period, I was shocked by the way I was sexualized and was expected to act. I was expected to be less playful but I missed jumping around without feeling every atom in my body as a frame around me. I had to lock myself in the bathroom for long periods of time to avoid my father seeing me with a pad in hands. Some sellers hid pads in paper and black plastic bags as if they were illegal.”

RAGE IS THE AWAKENING. | Rebelle Society

The rage is the awakening.

It impulses the birth

of owning my own sadness,

of broken daughters,

and silent mothers.

Sorrow weakens the wrath

and takes hold of my body,

the grief of betrayal seethes

through my veins.

Facing the deep sadness

to die a death and

rip away the cord that imprisons,

reveals a treasure.

And so I learn to feel.

To let go of the old,

and with the darkness

of the moon,

I step into my future

softly…

Meet the Lying Liars Responsible for Chipping Away at Roe v. Wade | Dame Magazine

They create nonprofits, staffed with die-hard ideologues, and set about producing and promoting bogus science, to build the illusion of dissent or doubt over conclusions drawn by peer-reviewed scientific or medical research. They develop their own “research findings” to suit their ideological views. Then they deploy scare tactics, all with the goal of passing laws that suit their agenda.

Abortion opponents, say Resnick and Coutts, have created “what might best be called the ‘False Witness’ industry,” a group of so-called experts willing to testify to unproven, anti-scientific claims about abortion.

Tribal Feminism: Tell Your Story. | Rebelle Society

On the contrary, I aim at helping my sisters find and heal themselves too through Tribal Feminism – by coming back to the body, to the roots, and to the ancient wisdom.

Through my friend and teacher Rachel, I keep meeting teacher, sisters and friends from various traditions, cultures and countries and we are all a great big circle, learning from one and other. The Hidden Garden is a cultural meeting point — like the one I always wished for and wanted to create.

Rachel is a source of inspiration that encourages me to continue developing myself by being the inspiration I wish to send out into the world. I am grateful to have come home to a community of family, friends, likeminded, sisters and brothers.

Through them I found the core of myself and how to cultivate it, and to practice what I always known I was supposed to do. That is the most precious and powerful tool I have received from Hidden Garden. We need community; we need each other to grow, to expand and to shine.

I hereby invite you to join us: come, tell your story! Here is your community.
