Donald Trump is Very Invested in Painting Nancy Pelosi as Frail and Failing – “Trump using obviously faked video!”

The Fox Business clip came shortly after another widely circulated—and doctored—video of Pelosi, which was slowed down by 25 percent and voice manipulated to make it appear that she was slurring her words to imply that she was drunk. (As Pelosi’s daughter Christine dryly noted on Twitter, her mom doesn’t even drink.) The video quickly spread through conservative, rightwing social media accounts on Thursday, racking up millions of views and tens of thousands of comments. In a tweet that has since been deleted, human piranha Rudy Giuliani posted the video and asked, “What is wrong with Nancy Pelosi? Her speech pattern is bizarre.” (On Friday morning, Giuliani attempted to apologize for sharing the video in a tweet that is riddled with spelling and grammatical errors and is certainly… something.)

Ben Carson is Either a Liar or an Idiot or Both

HUD’s move on Wednesday was widely criticized by advocates. “It completely guts the Equal Access Rule,” said Mara Keisling, Executive Director of the National Center for Transgender Equality, to the Washington Post. “The Trump administration is, once again, targeting the most vulnerable trans people by empowering shelters to turn people away and deny them equal access to services.” But it’s perfectly in line with the Trump administration’s attacks on the rights of trans people.

Austrian vice-chancellor resigns over secret video footage | World news | The Guardian

In the video, Strache, whose party’s first leader was a former SS officer, also ponders the part-privatisation of Austria’s public broadcaster, saying it should be more like the pro-government mouthpiece state media has become in neighbouring Hungary. He also appeared to suggest political donations might be made through a foundation with links to the FPO rather than the party itself, apparently in order to escape legal scrutiny.

Release unjustly detained pastor and grandmother | Faithful America

ICE agents forced their way into Betty Rendón’s home with guns drawn, “violently” shook her husband, and were reportedly “jubilant” after the arrest.   Pastor Rendón, who fled to the U.S. from Colombia after armed guerrillas attacked the school where she taught, now serves a church in Wisconsin as a student pastor while studying for her doctorate. Her bishop says the Rendóns have “been a blessing to every community that they’ve ever been a part of.”   Local religious leaders just held an interfaith prayer vigil outside the detention center where Pastor Rendón is being held, and national Lutheran leaders have called on federal officials to release her from detention.

NRA’s Wayne LaPierre Spent $39,000 in 1 Day at LA Boutique

The National Rifle Association, it brings me no pleasure to report, is fully in the shit: The Wall Street Journal reports that leaked internal NRA documents reveal, among other things, that NRA chief executive Wayne LaPierre billed more than $542,000 worth of clothing, travel, and other expenses to its longtime ad agency, Ackerman McQueen Inc. (It’s worth noting that the NRA and Ackerman McQueen are in the middle of a lawsuit over, you guessed it, money.)

BBC Fires Danny Baker Over Racist Royal Baby Tweet – The New York Times

“To post a pic picturing a 3-day-old baby of mixed heritage as a monkey, then claim it was a joke?” she wrote in tweet. “That’s old-school prejudice and racism at its peak. And for a trusted broadcaster working at a public service broadcaster to feed that prejudice? It’s unacceptable.” Mr. Baker has been fired from broadcasting jobs before, including at Radio 5 Live. The station previously dropped him in 1997, after he said on a soccer show that he would understand if fans physically attacked a referee. But he appeared unrepentant after his dismissal on Thursday, describing the BBC’s phone call to inform him of the decision as “a masterclass of pompous faux-gravity.”

From Sanctioning Iran to War?

To be clear-eyed about this danger, from all available evidence, the Iranian strategists are preparing to not fall into a US laid trap by acting first and provoking a US military response that will start a war. However, once they think that US is about to start bombing Iran, they will surely take what they consider to be appropriate asymmetric actions. And therein lies the dangers of a conflagaration that can easily get out of any great power’s control.

It’s Lies Once Again! – In Saner Thought

This is just the sort of LIES that gets our asses in trouble over and over again. We trusted the Israeli intel in Lebanon in the 1980s and we kill about 100 innocent people trying to kill one person and again in the 80s when we trusted their intel and we missed Qaddafi and finally the intel from Israel has been wrong about Iranian nukes for 25 years….and now we are trusting their inept intel once again….. What do we pay the CIA to do? Maybe confirm the intel before we do something stupid like Iraq. Just a thought.

US Takes Back Signature on Arms Trade Treaty | Inter Press Service

The US, in effect, joins three other “rogue states” – North Korea, Iran and Syria – who voted against the treaty at the UN General Assembly back in April 2013, along with 23 countries that abstained on the voting, including China, Russia, India, Indonesia and Saudi Arabia.
