Vaa yks syän; Vain yksi sydän; Only One Heart | Yelling Rosan muistikirja

Here is one of my poems in Ingrian, Finnish, and English.

Igrian

Finnish

English

Vaa yks syän

Vain yksi sydän

Only One Heart

Monet ovat kirjat

Monet ovat kirjat

There are so many books

nevvoja täyn,

neuvoja täynnä,

That guide you

mut vaa yks

mutta vain yksi

But only one

ono syän

on sydän

Heart

ken tiitää

joka tuntee

That knows

siun.

sinut.

You.

The Supreme Court’s Immunity Ruling: “No One Can Guarantee that Trump Is the Last Maniacal Sociopath Who Will Want Power in America” – DER SPIEGEL

Renowned Harvard law professor Laurence Tribe is appalled by the recent Supreme Court ruling granting U.S. presidents immunity for “official acts.” He believes the step to a dictatorship is a small one.

Editorial: One candidate is patently unfit for the White House: Trump – Los Angeles Times

Donald Trump speaks, a huge image of himself as a backdrop, as supporters hold signs, one reading "Joe Biden, you're fired"

Former President Trump, in Phoenix last month, has repeatedly proved himself unfit for office on a scale far worse than a shaky debate performance.

(Rick Scuteri / Associated Press)

It’s unbelievable that the nation is spending so much time on the question of Biden’s verbal acuity, when the greatest concern ought to be that his challenger is a self-aggrandizing felon and twice-impeached election-denier. Trump fomented the Jan. 6 insurrection, shows contempt for the rule of law and shamelessly lies in pursuit of more power. He’s an authoritarian who admires murderous despots, wants to jail his political enemies and has publicly flirted with declaring himself a dictator on his first day back in office…

Jimi Hendrix Unplugged: Two Great Recordings of Hendrix Playing Acoustic Guitar | Open Culture

maxresdefault.jpgAs a young guitar player, perhaps no one inspired me as much as Jimi Hendrix, though I never dreamed I’d attain even a fraction of his skill. But what attracted me to him was his near-total lack of formality—he didn’t read music, wasn’t trained in any classical sense, played an upside-down right-handed guitar as a lefty, and fully engaged his head and heart in every note, never pausing for an instant (so it seemed) to second-guess whether it was the right one. I knew his raw emotive playing was firmly rooted in the Delta blues, but it wasn’t until later in my musical journey that I discovered his return to more traditional form after he disbanded The Experience and formed Band of Gypsys with Billy Cox and Buddy Miles. While most of the recordings he made with them didn’t see official release, they’ve appeared since his death in compilation after boxset after compilation, including one of the most beloved of Hendrix’s blues songs, “Hear My Train A Comin’.”
