Tony Blair to sue David Cameron over plagiarising of his 2003 work of fiction ‘War Scenario’

Not satire just premeditated filching!

Pride's Purge

(satire?)

Lawyers representing Tony Blair have announced he is to sue David Cameron over allegations of copyright infringement relating to his 2003 work of fiction “War Scenario” in which a middle-eastern dictator is threatened with military action after being accused of having weapons of mass destruction*.

The former prime minister alleges Mr Cameron’s storyline about Syria – which also features a United Nations recklessly refusing to support military action until at least some concrete evidence is produced –  bears a strong resemblance to the one composed by the former prime minister in the lead up to the war in Iraq.

Both works of fiction feature the same far-fetched scenarios – a middle eastern country, weapons of mass destruction, unpopular leaders, public protests which are ignored, helicopters, ships, airplanes, missiles, a plethora of dead civilians and narratives which end with everyone losing.

Independent experts say the similarities between Mr…

Yosemite wildfire: Predator drone now part of battle against California blaze | OregonLive.com

The California National Guard drone deployed Wednesday was being remotely piloted hundreds of miles away, allowing ground commanders to keep an eye out for new fires they otherwise wouldn’t have immediately seen.

“The drone is providing data directly back to the incident commander, allowing him to make quick decisions about which resources to deploy and where,” Berlant said.

Previously, officials relied on helicopters that needed to refuel every two hours.

While unmanned aircraft have mapped past fires, use of the Predator will be the longest sustained mission by a drone in California to broadcast information to firefighters in real time.

The plane, the size of a small Cessna, will remain over the burn zone for up to 22 hours at a time, allowing fire commanders to monitor fire activity, determine the fire’s direction of movement, the extent of containment and confirm new fires ignited by lightning or flying embers.

The drone is being flown by the 163rd Wing of the California National Guard at March Air Reserve Base in Riverside and is operating from Victorville Airport, both in Southern California. It generally flew over unpopulated areas on its 300-mile flight to the Rim Fire. Outside the fire area, it will be escorted by a manned aircraft.

Detroit streetcar effort may piggyback off of Cincinnati – Cincinnati Business Courier

(Cincinnati does not have a lock on being silly about trying to use streetcar spin to make city “look” first class.)

A nonprofit effort to build a streetcar line in Detroit could try to piggyback off of Cincinnati’s order of five streetcars from CAF USA, according to a published report.

M1, a nonprofit consortium of Detroit businesses and nonprofit organizations building a $137 million 3.3-mile-long streetcar line in that city, is working on a request-for-proposal set to be issued in October for six streetcars, according to Crain’s Detroit Business.

Cincinnati’s streetcars are similar to the type for which M1 is looking.

“M1 took a special interest in Cincinnati’s $20 million procurement of five streetcars,” Crains reported.

M1 leaders have looked at buying six streetcars on their own or “attaching themselves to another system’s order, which is a common practice in the transit industry because it can reduce turnaround time and cost,” according to Crain’s.

Functional Foods from the Academy

However, there is growing evidence that some food components, not considered nutrients in the traditional sense, may provide positive health benefits. Foods containing these food components are called functional foods. Functional food research holds many promises for improving the quality of life for consumers; however, to achieve such outcomes, scientific research must effectively establish the bioavailability and efficacy of these compounds at levels that are physiologically achievable under typical dietary patterns.

The runaway

At this time of year if you’re a vegetable gardener, you’ve experienced it—zucchini runaways. One day you go out and see this cute little zuke and think I’ll give it one more day and the next day you go out and it grew into a baseball bat. It’s like overnight it got on some steroids and went ballistic.  Now it’s too big so what do we do with them besides hide them under the bed in case an intruder comes in? Well you could use them as door stops or take them to the fair but here are 4 ideas to eat them!

Stacey Rambold, Former Teacher Who Raped Student, Gets 30 Days Jail

Judges can be just as hateful toward women as Senators and members of the House of Representatives…

Countusin

A former Montana high school teacher convicted of raping a 14-year-old female student who later committed suicide will face only 30 days of jail time.

Stacey Dean Rambold, 54, had at least three sexual encounters with student Cherice Morales in 2008. In 2010, the student committed suicide a few weeks before her 17th birthday, The Billings Gazette reported.

Yellowstone County Judge G. Todd Baugh sentenced Rambold to 15 years prison, with all but only 31 days suspended for sexual intercourse without consent. The judge then gave Rambold credit for one day served, bringing the offender’s total jail time to just 30 days.

Auliea Hanlon, mother to the victim, testified that her daughter’s relationship with Rambold was a large factor in the teen’s suicide. As the sentence was delivered, Hanlon began to scream “You people suck!” before leaving the courtroom.

The judge said victim Morales was “as much in…
