58% of Israelis want Palestinians out of Jerusalem
PNN/ Jerusalem/
A recent poll released on Tuesday by the Israeli Midgam Institute showed that 58% of Israeli’s back canceling the resident status and its accompanying rights for Arab residents of east Jerusalem.
According to Israeli media, the poll comes after the Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu suggested stripping residency from Jerusalem Arabs this week and announced he may take a tour of the area to consider the move.
Withdrawing the Israeli card from the Palestinians means that they will not be able to move or enter the occupied 1948 lands, which are now under Israeli authority.
Palestinian ID holders, which are those who live in the West Bank or Gaza cannot enter Jerusalem unless by applying for an Israeli permission, which is mostly denied.
The poll also showed that 56% Israelis voted that East Jerusalem moves under Palestinian Authority (PA) control, and 34% opposed.
Only 35% opposed canceling the residency rights extended to Arab residents of Israel’s capital, according to the poll which was conducted for the Knesset Channel.
The results reportedly have “troubled” governmental ministers, as a sign that Netanyahu’s move meant to “divide Jerusalem.”
The poll also found that 74% oppose Israeli seizure of the occupied West Bank and giving the Israeli ID for Palestinians since it might “undermine the Jewish state.”
IOF demolish Al-Araqib Bedouin Village for the 90th time
PNN/ Negev/
Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) on Wednesday morning have demolished the Bedouin village of Al-Araqib in the occupied Negev for the 90th time.
Activist Salim Al-Araqib said that the Israeli police and special forces surrounded the village and started their demolition process.
He added that IOF assaulted anyone who tried to stop them from demolishing their homes, pushed them back and preceded the demolition, which went on for hours, leaving dozens of Palestinians homeless.
The activist added that IOF have also broke into Rahat city in the Negev, and started demolishing other homes too.
The village had been demolished for 90 times now, even after the Israeli Higher Court of Justice ruled that the village does not fall under Israeli occupation authority.
Demolitions, in addition to denial of basic services and access to infrastructure, are part of an ongoing campaign by Israeli planning committees against Bedouin villages in the Negev desert, where roughly 70-90,000 people live.
In May 2013, an Israeli government committee approved a draft bill setting a framework to implement the evacuation of “unrecognized” Bedouin villages in the Negev, most of which existed before the state of Israel.
Both Al-Araqib and Atir are among some 40 Negev villages that Israeli authorities have deemed unrecognized, arguing that the 53,000 Palestinian Bedouins living in them cannot prove land ownership.
Some 100 homes in unrecognized villages have been demolished since the beginning of 2015, while Israeli authorities have issued demolition notices to hundreds of others.
Fourth Hebron youth executed by IOF in less than 24 hours
PNN/ Hebron/
A Palestinian youth on Wednesday afternoon was shot-dead by Israeli Occupation forces in Hebron’s Tel Rumeida, PNN reporter said.
IOF reportedly shot 15-20 bullets on the boy, who has not been identified yet, and left him to bleed on the ground, preventing ambulances from approaching his body.
Pictures taken from the scene show a clean knife placed next to his body. It is unknown if Israeli soldiers or settlers have placed it there.
Clashes immediately erupted in Hebron following the shooting.
On Tuesday, IOF have shot three Palestinian youths, claiming that they tried to stab Israeli soldiers.
Israeli occupation forces last night killed a young Palestinian man identified as Hamam Said, 23, in Tel Rumeida, shortly after executing two other young Palestinians in Gush Etzion illegal settlement, south of Bethlehem, under the same pretext.
They were identified as Shabaan Abu Shkeidem, 17, and Shadi Nabil Abd al-Muti Dweik, 22, both from Hebron.
