Papaya Pineapple Boat | snapshotsincursive

What’s Cooking in Gail’s Kitchen? Palatable Possibilities: Papaya Pineapple Boat! The first time I tasted fresh papaya I was on the island of Kauai. I was told it had indescribable flavor different from cantaloupe, watermelon, or mango. They were right. Papaya is not sugary sweet. It’s light and juicy with a buttery texture that allows it to taste almost creamy. Does that make sense? The lime actually adds to the tropical ambiance, which is why I prefer a squeeze of fresh to slightly mingle with the other ingredients. I’ve read that the rough black seeds can be bitter to taste. Honestly, I’ve never gotten that far to put them to the test.

PAPAYA PINEAPPLE BOAT

Ingredients:

I ripe papaya, halved horizontally with seeds removed

1 cup pineapple chunks

1 cup blackberries

2 tablespoons red onion, cut into strips

Fresh Lime, for garnish

Thrilled to share my mural for the Streetart festival ‘The Bridges’ in Bruges, Belgium. This year’s theme was ‘crafts,’ and since the wall belongs to a bakery, I chose the craft of baking—specifically kneading—as my subject. Inspired by the old Flemish masters, I used traditional brushes to add a handcrafted touch.

OLA DE CALOR – El plumier de Nenuse

Badalona By Neus Bonet i Sala

A Labyrinth – Kaushal Kishore

Entranced by my love’s radiant glow,

I stumbled upon a peaceful place to go…

But soon found myself in a labyrinth’s hold,

With paths unfolding, and stories untold…

.

A twisting path beckoned, bright and long,

I followed, adrift, in its serpentine song…

There stood a tree, ensnared in its own design,

A refuge for lost souls, like me, so divine…

.

Its quietude resounded as I gazed in awe,

A message whispered, to rise above the law…

Of fleeting desires, and illusions that bind,

To let go, and soar, leaving the past behind…

.

So I turned back, my steps retraced,

Toward the home, with a newfound grace…

The tree’s wisdom echoed, shone so bright,

Guiding my path, through the dark of night…

.
