“I never felt as though I was on Trump’s deportation list”

At the age of 29, Felipe Alcaraz has been a soldier, a dairy worker and an urban inspector. He has picked lemons and tamarind fruit, and built houses. He has had girlfriends and also his fair share of heartache. And, at times, he has been happy. But now, Felipe is a deportee after being categorized a priority alien.

Charges fuel fears of Trump crackdown after Arizona-based group accused border patrol agents of sabotaging water containers

Eight humanitarian volunteers who help migrants survive desert treks have been charged with federal crimes, prompting fears of an escalating crackdown by the Trump administration.

The volunteers, all members of the Arizona-based group No More Deaths, appeared in court on Tuesday charged with a variety of offences including driving in a wilderness area, entering a wildlife refuge without a permit and abandoning property – the latter an apparent reference to leaving water, food and blankets on migrant trails.

A man wanted to ‘gun down’ CNN. Would Trump have been to blame? | Lucia Graves

Lucia-Graves,-L.png?w=300&q=55&auto=form

The president has repeatedly attacked the media, singling out CNN for its supposed ‘fake news’ coverage. Might that be inspiring violence?

On Christmas Eve, Donald Trump retweeted a doctored image of himself smiling on the phone with a bloodlike splatter on the underside of his shoe. Upon close inspection, the splatter revealed itself to be the CNN logo.

The following month, CNN headquarters received nearly two dozen threatening phone calls that began with talk of “fake news” and ended in threats of mass violence, according to federal documents.

Sen. Cotton Gets A Slap Down

Since he slithered into the US Senate Arkansas’ Tom Cotton has shown me nothing but self-absorption….he has done little to benefit the nation but everything to further his position in the government…..he has become the mouthpiece of the Israeli government making him an agent for a foreign nation.

Plus he has no problem lying to further his rise to the tower of power…..this person will do whatever it takes to protect his position even to the point of throwing the nation under the bus…..

Senator Tom Cotton is often called a foreign policy “hawk,” not least because he is eager to intervene in Iran. Cotton, the Republican from Arkansas who has at times been rumored to be in line for the position of CIA director, recently confirmed his stance on Tehran, telling radio host Hugh Hewitt: “Whether [Donald Trump] renews the sanctions waivers under the nuclear deal or not, the president should certainly impose new sanctions in the other authorities he has as punishment for what the regime has done during these protests over the last couple of weeks.” If that sounds relatively mild, a year ago, he was much more candid: “The policy of the United States should be regime change in Iran…I don’t see how anyone can say America can be safe as long as you have in power a theocratic despotism.”

While Cotton wonders about American safety, it might be more prudent to ask about the potential dangers of his strategy. What imminent threats to the lives or liberties of the American people, if any, are currently posed by Iran? After long and largely fruitless military struggles in the region, what has been gained? What could be gained with this new theater of operations? What might be lost?

We have enough self-centered toads in the government….we needs reps that take the Constitution seriously and not as a prop for political purposes…..Uncle Tom Cotton is NOT one of those people.

Leaked Trump infrastructure plan is a plan for corporate subsidies

Systemic Disorder

The Trump administration’s plans to rebuild infrastructure in the United States have been leaked, and it appears to be as bad as feared. At least three-quarters of intended funding will go toward corporate subsidies, not actual projects. It is possible that no funding will go directly toward projects.

There’s no real surprise here, given that President Donald Trump’s election promise to inject $1 trillion into infrastructure spending was a macabre joke. What is actually happening is that the Trump administration intends to push for more “public-private partnerships.” What these so-called partnerships actually are vehicles to shovel public money into private pockets. These have proven disastrous wherever they have been implemented, almost invariably making public services more expensive. Often, far more expensive. They are nothing more than a variation on straightforward schemes to sell off public assets below cost, with working people having to pay more for reduced quality of service.
