Democrats, Biden camp blast Michigan state lawmakers for Trump meeting | TheHill

Michigan Democrats and a top adviser to the Biden campaign ridiculed the meeting itself as inappropriate and part of a broader effort to subvert the will of the voters.

“This goes beyond partisan politics, and it’s an attempt to subvert our democracy and undermine the will of Michigan voters,” Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-Mich.) told reporters on a conference call Friday morning.

Dingell and others have expressed cautious optimism that state lawmakers will not cave if Trump urges them to reverse the results in Michigan, citing Shirkey’s comments earlier this week that an electoral coup in the state is “not going to happen.”

Acting Defense Secretary Christopher Miller exposed to coronavirus, but won’t quarantine – Vox

Frankly, that’s irresponsible, but it’s part for the course for Miller. When he traveled to Fort Bragg and USS Gerald Ford this week, he encouraged people to take off their masks, according to Wall Street Journal reporter Nancy Youssef. What’s more, he hugged people at both sites.

Miller didn’t know about his exposure to Covid-19 at the time, to be fair. Still, he’s shown no willingness to abide by social distancing or encourage personal protective measures since he assumed the role last week.

It’d be one thing if he were just some midlevel official. But he’s not: He’s the secretary of defense. It’s his duty to set the right example for the people under his care. At the moment, he’s grossly failing.

Or, maybe, you’re thinking it’s that they’re interactive, and that’s what they have in common, and, yep, that is true. Yet there is one more. Yep.

They are all part of a single system. Each one, coaching, communication, and insight, all of them, is a piece of a larger whole. Let’s take a look at these pieces so we can see the whole. Ready? Here we go.

Creating Coaching

Alright, I’ve written about coaching before, and, even wrote about a developed model that works pretty well. Yet, guess what? Yep. That model has iterated. Today? Here’s what it looks like now.

  1. Creating Safety
  2. Current Reality
  3. Future Reality
  4. Define the Gap
  5. Create Next Actions
  6. Create Safety

Yep, it is a complete system…

Steepening the Curve

CRAIN'S COMMENTS

Do you remember the parable about the little boy who cried “wolf”? He did it for attention, but the third time there really was a wolf, and no more little boy.

We talked about “flattening the curve” this year. That wasn’t to stop the virus, because we don’t have a proven way to do that, but to slow it so that medical systems could cope.

The Corona virus ran amok in the Northeastern US (especially New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts) in the Winter and Spring of this year. Shutdowns finally brought it under control, but the rest of the country didn’t react. Now the virus is surging again.

The Northeast had the advantage of a heavy concentration of hospital services. The rest of the US doesn’t, and there is a story of patients in Georgia being taken 500 miles to find a hospital with an available ICU bed. If…
