AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine 79% effective in U.S. trial – Los Angeles Times

AstraZeneca’s vaccine was 79% effective at preventing any COVID-19 symptoms and 100% at preventing severe ones, and had no safety issues with blood clots in large-scale U.S. trials, the company said Monday.

The results of the trials involving 32,449 people pave the way for AstraZeneca to apply for emergency-use authorization in the United States. The vaccine is already being administered widely in other countries around the world, such as Britain, on the strength of testing conducted outside the U.S.

Notably, the company said the U.S. results showed the vaccine to be 80% effective in people 65 and older. Its efficacy was also consistent across ethnicities.

“These findings re-confirm previous results observed in … trials across all adult populations, but it’s exciting to see similar efficacy results in people over 65 for the first time,” said Ann Falsey, a professor at the University of Rochester medical school in upstate New York and one of the principal investigators for the trial. “This analysis validates the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine as a much-needed additional vaccination option.”

PHILIPPINE BAMBOO.

They are a group of woody perennial grass which can grow up to 91 – 122 centimeters/day ( 3.8 – 5.0 centimeters /hour ) and are divided into two species, namely; a) CLUMPERS – they have short roots that grow close together in a circular pattern at a very slow rate. b) RUNNERS – they have roots called rhizomes. They can “run” underground that spread far and wide and produce shoots several meters away from the parent plant.

Bamboo belongs to the largest  Bambuseae  of the grass family of Poaceae. There are gigantic types of bamboo that grow almost treelike, while dwarf varieties can be small enough to grow in pots.

“Você está ficando louca”

Violence against women is: “any action or conduct that results in physical, psychological and sexual damage, in the private or public sphere”.

Pensamentos.me/VEM comigo!

Nacionalni park Josemiti, SAD – Yosemite National Park, USA

Although Yellowstone became the first national park in 1872, the Yosemite Valley and the redwood forest at Mariposa were declared on June 30, 1864. year with an inalienable part of the public heritage and a document signed by President Lincoln. Later, worried about the influx of gold diggers and their exploitation in the Sierra Nevada, naturalist, poet and mountaineer John Moore persuaded President Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt to grant Yosemite the status of a national park. The first tourists arrived on October 1, 1890 to admire the area that inspired generations of artists and writers.

Myrela

Kasnije, zabrinut zbog navale kopača zlata i…

Garland, who is Jewish, shot down Lee’s charge. “I’ve read, in the last few days, these allegations about Kristen Clarke, who I’ve also gotten to know. Who I also trust. Who I believe is a person of integrity,” Garland responded. Pressed again, he added with some heat, “I’m a pretty good judge of what an anti-Semite is, and I do not believe that she is an anti-Semite. And I do not believe that she is discriminatory in any sense.” (For the record, neither does the Anti-Defamation League.)

As I write this, the homepage of the opposition-research site Bidennoms.com, a link recently tweeted by Ted Cruz, “spotlights” two nominees with photos on their homepage: Clarke and Chiquita Brooks-LaSure, who’s been nominated to run Medicare and Medicaid — both Black women.

“It’s impossible not to notice that women of color seem to be drawing fire for the wrong reasons,” says Justin Levitt, a Loyola Law School professor and former Civil Rights division official. National Women’s Law Center president Fatima Goss Graves told me, “These types of campaigns against women of color, and the language that is being used, to portray these nominees as ‘radical’ are not being levied against men.”
