Love is Too Short for You Not to Do What You Love

MiddleMe

Love is a subjective emotion. While others talked about love between two person, I want to address love in a different way. To me, it is suffering if you cannot find love (even a wee bit) in what you do on a daily basis. I’m not sure if it is even worth the pay check if you are trading your precious time with happiness.

Below is an article I have shared in a collaborative with Patty Wolters and I hope to shred some light in this little thing we called love.

This is the perfect way to end my March with you. See you in April!

Enjoy!

The Antiscience Movement Is Escalating, Going Global and Killing Thousands – Scientific American

Now antiscience is causing mass deaths once again in this COVID-19 pandemic. Beginning in the spring of 2020, the Trump White House launched a coordinated disinformation campaign that dismissed the severity of the epidemic in the United States, attributed COVID deaths to other causes, claimed hospital admissions were due to a catch-up in elective surgeries, and asserted that ultimately that the epidemic would spontaneously evaporate. It also promoted hydroxychloroquine as a spectacular cure, while downplaying the importance of masks. Other authoritarian or populist regimes in Brazil, Mexico, Nicaragua, Philippines and Tanzania adopted some or all of these elements.

I trace the adoption of antiscience as a major platform of the GOP to the year 2015 when the antivaccine movement pivoted to political extremism on the right. It first began in Southern California when a measles epidemic erupted following widespread vaccine exemptions. The California legislature shut down these exemptions to protect the public health, but this ignited a “health freedom” rallying cry. Health freedom then gained strength and accelerated in Texas where it formed a political action committee linked to the Tea Party. Protests against vaccines became a major platform of the Tea Party; this then generalized in 2020 to defy masks and social distancing. Further accelerating these trends were right wing think tanks such as the American Institute of Economic Research that sponsored the Great Barrington Declaration, and the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, the home of physician Scott Atlas, who became a senior advisor to the Trump White House coronavirus task force.

Containing antiscience will require work and an interdisciplinary approach. For innovative and comprehensive solutions, we might look at interagency task forces in the U.S. government or among the agencies of the United Nations. Given the role of state actors such as Russia, and antivaccine organizations that monetize the internet, we should anticipate that any counteroffensive could be complex and multifaceted. The stakes are high given the high death toll that is already accelerating from the one-two punch of SARS CoV2 and antiscience. We must be prepared to implement a sophisticated infrastructure to counteract this, similar to what we have already done for more established global threats. Antiscience is now a large and formidable security issue.

Self improvement {Accepting who you are}

Rather than striving to be the best it’s always better to always do your best

In life you are not always gonna be the best at everything, somewhere along the way and not even once there are some people who are going to prove that they just do certain things better than you can and that does not mean you are any less than them. The best thing for you is to always do your best by putting your best effort and you will get get what you deserve.

Never judge yourself by the results of other people, Never compare yourself with other people. Learn to be fruitful with your life, learn to focus on your life and learn to be content with what you have.

Keep doing what you do, Keep doing what you can do and never be upset with what you can’t do. Learn to live in…

Russia blocks military archives in further effort to distort the truth about World War II (Me: translation… Russia wants to control and pass on its own distortions)

Russia’s Defence Minister, Sergei Shoigu has issued orders which effectively block almost all access to Russian military archives from the period of the Second World War.  The move is especially alarming given the current regime’s systematic attempts to push its own narrative about that period, distorting or muffling historical facts, for example, about the Soviet Union’s collaboration with Nazi Germany from 1939 to June 1941.

Australian researchers find COVID-19 aerosol spread that puts some healthcare workers at risk over others – ABC News

Much of the current official guidance about personal protective equipment is designed to protect the wearer from droplets, and infection spread by aerosols is only considered a risk when caused by medical interventions such an intubating a patient.

“Surgical facemasks provide inadequate protection against aerosols and staff safety can only be increased by more widespread use of specialised tight-fitting respirators (N95 or FFP3 masks) and increased indoor ventilation,” Proffesor Tovey said.

Professor Guy Marks from the University of New South Wales, who was also involved in the study, said the findings had broad implications beyond hospital workers.

“The generation of both droplets and particularly aerosols by everyday breathing activities reinforces the importance of maintaining social distance, having excellent ventilation in buildings and transport,” he said.

Many schools in Europe now mandate that windows must be open to ensure good ventilation.
