Intel Sued Under Wiretapping Laws for Tracking User Activity on its Website | Threatpost

A class-action suit in Florida accuses the tech giant of unlawfully intercepting communications by using session-replay software to capture the interaction of people visiting the corporate homepage Intel.com.

At issue in the case is session replay software that Intel—and many other companies–use on their respective websites that can track how people interact with the site, including recording their mouse movements and clicks, information they input into the site, and the pages and content they view, according to the suit.

The suit claims that this activity by Intel violates the 2020 Florida Security of Communications Act, which makes it illegal to intentionally intercept another person’s electronic communications without first letting the person know and asking for his or her consent.

Former Cop Michael Lee Hardin Arrested for Storming Capitol

A former Utah police officer who won one of his department’s highest honors for a false murder arrest has been charged with crossing the “thin blue line” in the Jan. 6 plot to overthrow the U.S. government. The FBI’s joint terrorism task force, along with Utah’s State Bureau of Investigation, arrested retired Salt Lake City police officer Michael Lee Hardin on Friday, or, as the New York Post describes it, took Hardin “into custody without incident.” Apparently, the deadly “incident” at the Capitol where three officers died doesn’t count. According to the criminal complaint, Hardin was charged with knowingly entering or remaining in a restricted building or grounds without lawful authority; disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds; disorderly conduct in a Capitol Building; and parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol Building. The 50-year-old sedition enthusiast retired from the Salt Lake City Police Department in 2017 after serving about two decades. In 2012, Hardin was awarded the Officer of the Year for arresting Thomas Pennington on first-degree murder charges in the 25-year-old cold case of Patricia Ramirez, who was strangled and left fo

Inhale Peace; Exhale Love. Joy will Follow! - RUELHA

Today, I’m going to show you how to make egg curry. There are innumerable ways to make this dish. You can make it with a ground coconut paste base, with yoghurt or cream or even coconut milk. So the variant I’ll teach you today is a Northern one which will be thicker and creamy that goes really well with any unleavened Indian flatbread.

Ingredients:

  • 6 eggs
  • 2 tbsp. ghee/clarified butter or cooking oil
  • 1 cardamom
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped

Disney, Geico backed Florida lawmakers sponsoring restrictive voting bills (Me: stand for freedom and voting, not blocking people from being part of our democracy)

State lawmakers sponsoring these bills have seen contributions from media giants Disney and Charter, prison behemoth the GEO Group, insurance company Geico and trip planner Expedia, along with CenturyLink and other massive corporations. Disney has contributed more than $8,000 to the campaigns of the three lawmakers sponsoring similar Florida voting bills, according to state campaign finance records reviewed by CNBC. Critics say that with these types of bills flowing through state legislatures across the country, corporations have to go farther than putting out statements, and hold back on campaign contributions.

Gov. Greg Abbott publicly slammed Facebook. Privately, he’s courting them. | The Texas Tribune (Me: two-faced Texas)

Last month, Gov. Greg Abbott blasted the actions of Facebook as “un-American [and] un-Texan,” accusing it and other social media giants of spearheading a “dangerous movement to silence conservative voices.” “The First Amendment is under assault by these social media companies, and that will not be tolerated in Texas,” Abbott said. At the same time, his office was working quietly with the company with the hope that it will soon build a second data center in the state, according to documents provided to The Texas Tribune by the Tech Transparency Project, a technology research arm of the nonprofit watchdog group Campaign for Accountability.

Local bar opening in rural Illinois was tied to at least 46 new Covid cases, CDC says

  • A local bar opening in a rural Illinois county led to at least 46 Covid-19 cases and a school closure that affected 650 children, according to the CDC.
  • “This investigation further demonstrates that inconsistent mask use and inadequate physical distancing in an indoor environment can increase transmission risk,” the CDC wrote.
  • The county’s per capita case count doubled as a result of the bar opening, the CDC said.

Cleaning and Disinfecting Your Home | CDC

Cleaning with a household cleaner that contains soap or detergent reduces the amount of germs on surfaces and decreases risk of infection from surfaces. In most situations, cleaning alone removes most virus particles on surfaces. Disinfection to reduce transmission of COVID-19 at home is likely not needed unless someone in your home is sick or if someone who is positive for COVID-19 has been in your home within the last 24 hours.
