247 aboard South Korean destroyer test positive for COVID-19, report says | The Japan Times
“Test results on all 301 crewmembers of the unit showed that 247 tested positive and 50 negative. The samples of four individuals were undecipherable,” the South Korean military was quoted as saying in a statement.
None of the personnel had been vaccinated as they left South Korea before the country started its inoculation campaign.
Some of the crew members were receiving treatment in local hospitals, while others with mild or no symptoms had been placed in isolation on the vessel, according to an earlier report.
The destroyer was on an anti-piracy mission in the Gulf of Aden off Somalia and around the Strait of Hormuz, the report said. South Korea has sent two multirole aerial tankers to the waters off Africa to bring back all the crew.

Britain’s cases spike 70% in week as England ends lockdown Monday – UPI.com
Britain is dealing with a contrasting coronavirus situation: surging cases despite nearly 70% of its population receiving at least one vaccine dose and plans to ease restrictions, including in England on Monday. In addition, Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who was hospitalized with coronavirus last year, is self-isolating after becoming exposed to his infected health secretary.
In the past week, infections in Britain increased by 297,300 or 42%, including 54,674 Saturday, the highest since January and a record 67,803. Sunday’s increase was 48,161. Fatalities also rose 48%, adding 192 in one week, including 41 Saturday then 25 Sunday, but far off the record 1,823 on Jan. 20.

Texas positivity rate climbs as delta variant sparks concerns of new wave | The Texas Tribune
With less than half of Texans vaccinated and the highly contagious delta variant of the coronavirus spreading, the percentage of COVID-19 tests coming back positive in the state has climbed to a rate unseen since winter.
As of this weekend, Texas’ positivity rate is over 10% — a level that Gov. Greg Abbott and the Trump administration had identified as a red flag earlier in the pandemic. Meanwhile, daily confirmed new case totals and hospitalizations are climbing fast, but are far below their winter peaks.

Lächeln in Asien, Teil 1
Smiles in Asia

Pizza & figs with dried tomatoes!!!

Do laws like Sedition undermine credibility of the World’s largest Democracy?
The British used a Colonial Law called “Sedition” to silence Mahatma Gandhi and Bal Gangadhar Tilak. Were they anti-national?
If questioning the government can land you in prison or charge you with a hearty fine then what is the difference between a democracy and autocracy?
You need to understand that Sedition (Rajdroh) should not be confused with Treason (Deshdroh). There is a clear distinction between the two and must not be used interchangeably.
Sedition as defined in the Indian Penal Code –“Whoever, by words, either spoken or written, or by signs, or by visible representation, or otherwise, brings or attempts to bring into hatred or contempt, or excites or attempts to excite disaffection towards, the government established by law in India, shall be punished with imprisonment which may extend to three years, to which a fine may be added; or, with fine.”
Treason as defined in the Indian Penal…
