Insurrection Update #10

In Saner Thought

News from the depths of the ugliest period in recent history…..the insurrection of 06 January.

This is my small attempt to keep the news and events around the insurrection in the minds of my readers and hopefully they will get more insight than they would normally.

First, I see that some of the worthless slugs that took an active part in a state insurrection gets off basically scott free….

A former Oregon lawmaker who was expelled for letting violent, far-right protesters into the state Capitol pleaded guilty Tuesday to one count of official misconduct.

The Statesman Journal reports that Mike Nearman was sentenced to 18 months probation, during which he will need to complete 80 hours of community service and is banned from the Capitol building and grounds. He will also pay $200 in court fees and $2,700 to the Oregon Legislative Administration for damages done during the Dec. 21…

Day 62/67 of GED in Five Months, Perpetual Motion, and graphic proof

Context, Thought, and Learning: ShiraDest Offers Project Do Better

If proof lies in seeing with our own eyes, then those ideas which you can graph and derive from laws must be true, or are they?

Like the moon forever in orbit around the earth, some proofs take a bit more time than others…

Today’s reading: Newton’s laws of motion need to be examined in greater detail in order to answer questions that derive from those laws, just as in mathematics, one derives a proof from various postulates and laws of mathematics.

As it turns out, the moon is very nearly a perpetual motion machine. It goes around the earth every month and has been doing so at almost constant speed for a very long time. Even so, with advanced instruments and careful measurements, we can determine that the moon’s motion is changing: it gets farther away from the earth on average by about two centimeters each year…

Lolla-Pa-Whazzit???

Filosofa's Word

Take a look at the above picture.  How many people do you see wearing a mask?  Look how close the people are.  Social distancing?  HAH!  I think not!  This was the scene at the 4-day music festival in Chicago called Lollapalooza held this past weekend.  Approximately 100,000 people attended each of the four days.  To attend, people had to either provide a Covid-19 vaccine card or proof of a negative Covid-19 test from the previous 72 hours.  Big f*cking deal.  This event should not have even been held, but to allow nearly a half-million people during the event to mix and mingle sans masks is the height of stupidity.

My daughter is a member of the Cincinnati Caledonian Pipes and Drums band, and as such they typically play at 15-20 events in the eastern half of the U.S. and Canada each year, including a Winter Storm festival in St. Louis…
