Domino Effect

Knowing that the cards on the table are all stacked in our favour, and winning is non negotiable we bag the bets all the time. When there is no accountability chaos ensues. The enablers are the ones responsible for the inequity.

10 Major Environmental Problems Caused by Mankind’s Unsustainable Ways of Living

MoTEnv — MTE

Over the course of billions of years, the Earth’s numerous life forms have been depending on energy from the sun and the ecosystem services and natural resources available on Earth.

Generally speaking, nature has been sustaining life on Earth by relying on solar energy, chemical cycling, and biodiversity, and applying the following three principles of sustainability or lessons from nature in order to promote environmental sustainability and prevent or eliminate environmental problems:

  • reliance or dependence on solar energy in order to reduce or eliminate environmental problems caused by artificially created forms of energy and combustion of fossil fuels and.
  • application of nutrient or chemical cycling or waste reuse to ensure there is little or no waste disposal in the environment.
  • allowance of all types of biodiversity (or biological diversity) to exist and provide vital ecosystem services; this can further provide numerous ways for the variety of plant and animal life…

Reports of assault, verbal abuse as thousands protest vaccine passports outside hospitals across B.C. | CBC News (Me: Do not give air to those who would condemn society to die in a vaccine-less society!!!)

Afghans Who Worked for The New York Times Arrive in Houston – The New York Times

The Afghans were evacuated from Kabul on Aug. 19, aided by the government of Qatar, which arranged passage to Doha. From there, Mexican officials helped ease the journey to Mexico City, where the group had stayed since last Wednesday while waiting for The Times to get resettlement services lined up in Houston.

Attacks on Texas health workers surge during latest COVID-19 wave | The Texas Tribune (Me: Things falling apart… is real)

“Our staff have been cursed at, screamed at, threatened with bodily harm and even had knives pulled on them,” said Jane McCurley, chief nursing executive for Methodist Healthcare System, speaking at a press conference five days after the incident in the children’s ER. “It is escalating. … It’s just a handful at each facility who have been extremely abusive. But there is definitely an increasing number of occurrences every day.” Nurses and hospital staffers are historically vulnerable to workplace violence due to the nature of their jobs, where they deal with people who are having bad reactions to street drugs or mental breaks and often have to give bad news to patients or family already in extreme pain or emotional distress. Half of all Texas nurses reported verbal and physical abuse at work in 2016 – the last year Texas health officials surveyed them about it.

Political Essay Says Revolution in China to End ‘Sissy’ Celebrity Billionaire Culture — Radio Free Asia (Me: Deja vu-Maoism could cause Chinese market to crash and burn…?)

State-run media under the ruling Chinese Communist Party (CCP) reprint the essay in full, which signals a ‘profound’ political shift under leader Xi Jinping.

The essay, titled “Everyone can tell that profound social change is under way” and printed in CCP mouthpiece the People’s Daily, uses the recent crackdown on China’s scandal-hit entertainment industry to argue that profound political change is afoot that will focus on easing inequality.

The essay argues that the CCP has launched a “profound revolution” with its crackdown on celebrity culture, billionaires, and the private sector generally, citing Beijing’s blocking of Ant Financial’s initial public offering (IPO) in New York in late 2020, as well as an ongoing probe into the business operations of ride-sharing app Didi Chuxing.

“China is undergoing a profound revolution … turning away from a capital-centered approach to a people-centered one,” the essay said. “It represents a return to the original aims of the CCP … and to the essence of socialism.”

“This revolution will wash all of the dirt away,” said the essay, signed by Li Guangman, columnist and former editor of the trade publication Central China Electric Power.

“Our capital markets will no longer be a paradise for capitalists to get rich overnight; our cultural sphere no longer a paradise for sex-crazed celebrities, and the worship of Western culture will no longer be a feature of our news coverage or public opinion,” Li wrote.

Outraged!!!

One of the saddest days in America for democracy and freedom.

Filosofa's Word

There are so many competitors for my anger these days that I am often simply overwhelmed and don’t know where to begin.  This one, however, robbed me of a night’s sleep and nearly wrote itself in my head last night as I tried counting sheep, counting backward by 2s from 200, and played countless games of Sudoku on my phone.

The target of my acerbic tongue today?  Women’s rights … women’s rights that in the last two days have been set back by 100 years or more in the not-so-great state of Texas.  No, folks, this isn’t just about abortion as many would have you believe … this is about women’s rights.  Now that we are told we cannot decide for ourselves whether we are financially and emotionally ready to have a child, the rest of our rights will be as a house of cards.

The Texas legislature passed a…
