Why is it vital to join the #Boycott4Wildlife? — Palm Oil Detectives

According to a 2021 survey by Nestle of 1001 people, 17% of millennial shoppers (25-45 years old) completely avoid palm oil in the supermarket. 25% said that they actively check to see if products contain palmoil. You’re FIRED!
There was never anything that deemed Kellyanne Conway qualified to sit on the U.S. Air Force’s Board of Visitors. She has no military experience at all and her appointment to that position by the former guy can only be said to have been a political favour. Okay, every president has likely meted out such favours, and the next president most often reverses them if they aren’t qualified.
On Wednesday, the White House told 18 officials who had been appointed by the former guy to serve on the boards of U.S. military service academies to resign or be dismissed. Of the 18, only one that I’m aware of was even remotely qualified for the positions to which he had been appointed: former National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster. Among the least qualified were former Trump advisor and one-time campaign manager Kellyanne Conway and former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer. Neither had…

L.A. school district approves student COVID vaccine mandate – Los Angeles Times
All children 12 and older in Los Angeles public schools must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by January to enter campus under an order approved Thursday by the Board of Education, the first such mandate among the nation’s largest school systems. The requirement cements the standing of the L.A. Unified School District as an early adopter of COVID-19 school safety measures that are wide-reaching and aggressive — a posture that has resulted in both praise and pushback.

The Facebook and Ray-Ban smart glasses look cool… but no thanks
Look, I’d love to try the Facebook and Ray-Ban smart glasses, but there is no way in hell I’d actually use these day-to-day. Facebook simply can’t be trusted. From Cambridge Analytica to scamming teens to sell off their personal data, Facebook has repeatedly and continually violated people’s privacy. Even moving beyond the never-ending array of scandals, the platform is essentially an advertizer. Its goal is to harvest your information to sell ads. That’s it. And you know what’s an absolutely fantastic data source? A pair of cameras attached to your head. Look, I’m sure Facebook will big up all the privacy aspects of its smart glasses at launch, but it’ll be like the Portal: all words, no substance.

Parents on B.C.’s Malcolm Island say most children kept home from school over teacher’s mask exemption | CBC News
Many parents have sent a collective letter to the school district and the B.C. Ministry of Education calling on them to ensure “a safe and secure learning environment” for children and other staff members.
The letter also requests that teachers and staff who cannot wear masks be relocated to where they can work in isolation from the rest of the school community, and calls for the ministry to provide emergency funds for safe in-school learning alternatives for students.
“None of us want this,” said Reid. “My kid … is finally excited about school and now this is happening.”
Reid said most parents don’t want to resort to home-schooling, but she envisions a number of them will de-register their child if a solution isn’t found quickly.
