Every time there’s a Shooting…

More Enigma Than Dogma

Do you remember when…

Remember back to that weekend in late March when there were two mass killings in the space of days on opposite sides of the U.S. (Georgia and Colorado)?

Oh… but why would you remember?

There’s been too many mass shootings before – and according to the New York Times – the 2020 murder rate rose by a stunning 29 percent (!) – the largest one-year increase since the FBI has been keeping statistics.

Well then would you remember how Senator Ted Cruz began his defence at the gun violence hearing soon after?

Every time there’s a shooting…

This Ridiculous Theatre

In this month to contemplate the place of violence in our times, I wonder if this is really how you want to start to defend the open access to a device used to instigate, propagate, terminate with violence?…

Rustic Wooden Bridge

2048.studio

Imagine the sound of water rushing downstream around moss-covered rocks, amidst foliage in its autumnal change of season coloration. In the distance, a rickety old wooden bridge along a gravel road spans the waterway. It’s peaceful, without any sound outside of nature. Enjoy the beauty of this natural landscape scenery in the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee, as photographed November 1, 2021.

Before Our Children Ask Why We Didn’t Protect the Environment, We Can Do More

FunWritings

We need to look at the systems that are stalling our Progress

And move to get Governments to encourage the use of clean energy so more of us can have success

Grass roots organizations are defending their rights, they are rising up and acting

Climate Justice is defined as a human rights issue and people are not just talking about problems, they are reacting

They say water is life and it must be protected, we should be speaking up about these issues more

Our children deserve to have a future that is secure

We can do more to reduce our use of fossil fuels each day

As we prepare for a green future in a great way

We all should be talking about climate justice at this time because we could lose everything

If we sit and watch as sea level keep on rising…

Apple Butter Bars

snapshotsincursive

What’s Cooking in Gail’s Kitchen? The Food Whisperer: Apple Butter Bars! What if I told you there was no “butter” in apple butter? Would you wrinkle your brow and say, “Whaaat?” It’s true. Apple butter is made by slow-cooking apples a long time until the sugar content caramelizes, giving it a deep brown color. I skipped the homemade process by choosing to purchase an organic brand made by one of my favorite country restaurants. You can, too, by visiting local farmers who are more than willing to share their bounty this time of year. It’s Applelicious!

APPLE BUTTER BARS

Ingredients:

3/4 cup butter

1 cup sugar

2 cups flour

1 teaspoon sea salt

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 1/2 cups natural apple butter

1 gala apple, peeled and chopped

1/3 cup peanuts, chopped

1/4 cup brown sugar

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350°. Grease a 9”x13” pan…
