Žefarovićeva Nojeva barka – Zefarovic’s Noah’s Ark

Myrela

Vivaldi translation of title and introduction: Iran – art on tiles
PUBLISHED ON 18. Dezember 2021
It’s only been a good two years since we visited Iran, but it seems to me to be almost an eternity since a lot has changed all over the world in the meantime. I never wanted to go to Iran in and of itself, mainly because of the uncertain political situation, but since my husband expressed the wish to visit the country many years ago, I wanted to fulfill this wish. And I didn’t regret it, on the contrary: the impressions were really overwhelming, especially because of the gracious people, the Persian gardens and the great cultural treasures. The two cities of Isfahan and Shiraz in particular were also exceptional because of the unique tile art in mosques and palaces.

When Your Life Is Worth Less: The British Attack on Human Rights

Media Diversified

As opposition to the Nationality and Borders Bill grows, there is also the spectre of an attack on the Human Rights Act by the Conservative government. As Maria W. Norris explains, this is likely to have a disproportionate effect on people of colour and raises fundamental questions about equality in the UK.

This week the Justice Secretary, Dominic Raab, launched a consultation on a new British bill
of rights, a pet project of the Tory right for decades. Condemned as a “blatant, unashamed
power grab” by leading human rights organisations such as Liberty, it is important to
understand the roots of the Tory antipathy to human rights. A mere glance at this
government’s legislative agenda reveals why they want to get rid of the Human Rights Act,
with several bills before parliament which are likely to clash with existing human rights
obligations. At the core of any attempt to limit…

Boric or Kast? Chile Votes on Sunday – Havana Times (Me: Vota Boric!)

It will either be the end of, or the resurgence of Pinochetism, which has been present the last 31 years as a shadow of a transition that seems eternal. The seven governments that have alternated in power since 1990, in one way or another, respected in an undeclared pact, a status quo inherited from the dictatorial regime, with variables of inclination towards the left or the right, but always betting on a drawn-out center. Jogging

Vivaldi translation of introduction: Paris, 2021

Hello, Madame ! the gendarme responds by opening the wrought iron gate of the Luxembourg Garden wide. One of my Parisian rituals is half an hour of running in the morning at sunrise, in the public garden of the French Senate, sulptural park, botanical, floral, museum, orchard of fruit trees, sports space, reading room, day and night guarded by the gendarmes of the Republican Guard.

ore de drum

Paris, 2021

Bonjour,Madame!
