Vier verschiedene Hochzeiten in Myanmar

Day 26/67 High School in Five Months, Relationships, and Adulting Education

Context, Thought, and Learning: ShiraDest Offers Project Do Better

Understanding how to see how various shapes, quantities, people, or policies relate to each other is a crucial part of Adult citizenship responsibility,  and is thus part of any democracy movement as well.

RectangleGeo

The relationship between a square and a rectangle is quite simple, analogous to the relationship between Newton’s Laws of Motion and Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity: that of the special case of the larger subset.

Eu sou corresponsável por aquilo que faço

Pensamentos.me/VEM comigo!

Dê passagem a elas!…

our love, airborne

by Jeff Flesch, Monthly Contributor

site: https://jeffflesch.com/

the sun rising in the morn, reminding me of times,
forlorn, dust-laden hands, breathing in all I can,
while looking to the stones in the
riverbend

wafting this way and that, gathering debris, kept,
from the tides, even as we diatribe,
about the loss felt, within
our cradled
breast

beating like a drum, as we wonder about tomorrow’s
hum, learning more about what is torn, and
realizing the river, once turned to stone,
is now full of

our love, airborne…

Does Mutual Aid speak to your condition?

LANDBACK Friends

For the past week I’ve been writing daily to prepare for a discussion at my Quaker meeting this Sunday. (See the table at the end listing those posts).

Yesterday’s post is an example of why I need to prepare. I went a bit off track. There is a lot to Mutual Aid, and we can’t cover it all in one hour. I hope there will be interest to continue to explore more about Mutual Aid after this weekend’s discussion.

In the quote below (Quaker) George Fox uses the term “speak to my condition”. I think that might be a way to frame Sunday’s discussion, does Mutual Aid speak to our condition today?

But as I had forsaken the priests, so I left the separate preachers also, and those esteemed the most experienced people; for I saw there was none among them all that could speak to my condition. And when…

Thoughtful Thursdays, Stayed on Freedom’s Call page 45, and “Farther Along”

Context, Thought, and Learning: ShiraDest Offers Project Do Better

How do neighbors in your town come together?

I started my own walking singing tour company in the belief that song was a powerful way to help bring people together to learn from our history.  Some of what I learned is in my book Stayed on Freedom’s Call (last week was page 44…):

” … 1. The site of Bleak House: Geranium St, NW, between 15 th and 14 th Streets, NW

It has been here since the year 1870, and now “Boss” Alexander Robey Shepherd’s mansion Bleak House, named for the Dickens novel which he and his wife read
together, is finally being torn down. Now that 1916 has arrived, so have developers who want to subdivide and build houses in this lovely area.   For the “Better Classes,” of course.   What will it be like in forty more years, we wonder?

“Que…

Remarks By President Biden To Mark One Year Since The January 6th Deadly Assault On The U.S. Capitol | The White House (Me: Read what he said rather than spin by those writing about what he said)

Madam Vice President, my fellow Americans: To state the obvious, one year ago today, in this sacred place, democracy was attacked — simply attacked.  The will of the people was under assault.  The Constitution — our Constitution — faced the gravest of threats.

Outnumbered and in the face of a brutal attack, the Capitol Police, the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department, the National Guard, and other brave law enforcement officials saved the rule of law.

Our democracy held.  We the people endured.  And we the people prevailed.

For the first time in our history, a president had not just lost an election, he tried to prevent the peaceful transfer of power as a violent mob breached the Capitol.

But they failed.  They failed.

And on this day of remembrance, we must make sure that such an attack never, never happens again…
