Organized crime is a top driver of global deforestation – along with beef, soy, palm oil and wood products
Jennifer Devine, Texas State University
Every year the world loses an estimated 25 million acres (10 million hectares) of forest, an area larger than the state of Indiana. Nearly all of it is in the tropics. Tropical forests store enormous quantities of carbon and are home to at least two-thirds of the world’s living species, so deforestation has disastrous consequences for climate change and conservation. Trees absorb carbon dioxide as they grow, slowing its buildup in the atmosphere – but when they are burned or logged, they release their stored carbon, fueling further warming. Tropical forest loss generates nearly 50% more greenhouse gases than does the global transportation sector.
At the 2021 U.N. conference on climate change in Glasgow, more than 100 world leaders pledged on Nov. 1 to halt deforestation by 2030. In the Declaration on Forests and Land Use, countries outlined their strategy…

Violência Contra a Mulher
Vivaldi title translation: Violence against Women
” O homem ainda mata porque se sente o macho que não pode ser inferiorizado diante da sociedade. Ele mata porque entende que a mulher é seu objeto. Portanto, se essa mulher não for dele, não será de mais ninguém. “

Mistakes and Judgement

Life is one big story, human lives are parts of the big story. All humans love stories, all humans are storytellers; talking about oneself, other people, places, events, etc, is what humans do. Your life is a story, you write it every day by living it, and people are reading it daily through observation, gossip, etc.
To live, you have to wrong(mistake)
To live better, you have to right your wrongs
To live best, you have to learn from people’s wrongs.
It’s natural and okay to talk and learn from people and their mistakes, but it’s wrong to judge people’s mistakes, it’s not even right to judge your own mistakes. You can judge Adolf Hitler because his story ended, you gain nothing from judging an inconclusive story.
Mistake makes a man stronger and better, situations changes with time❤️
If you judge/condemn someone’s past, what about the present, if you judge/condemn…

Saturday Surprise — Avian Humour
I must admit that I nearly forgot that today is Saturday. There’s a reason for this … no, I’m not losing all my marbles, only a few of them. See, daughter Chris was off from work yesterday (Friday), which made it feel like Saturday all day, for she’s never home on Friday. At any rate, I remembered in time and thought since a few of my posts this week were pretty dark, we really do need some humour to lead into the weekend. This is a post from a couple of years ago — July 2020 — when I had also forgotten it was Saturday and for the same reason, that Chris had been off work, only that time it was for the July 4th holiday and this time it was for the ice & snow storm we had on Thursday! Anyway, enjoy the birdies and have a terrific weekend!
