Arizona Senate candidate releases Super Bowl ad showing armed ‘showdown’ with Dem leaders | TheHill
The 30-second ad features actors depicting Kelly, President Biden, and Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
“The good people of Arizona have had enough of you. It’s time for a showdown,” Lamon, who plays himself in the ad, says.
The Democratic figures then draw their weapons and Lamon shoots at them, prompting them to run away.
The campaign said that the ad will begin running locally in Tucson, Ariz., on Sunday when the Super Bowl is airing, it will then air statewide beginning later in the evening.
The ad immediately prompted backlash online, given that Kelly’s wife, former Rep. Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.) was shot during an assassination attempt in 2011. Giffords suffered a severe brain injury as a result and has since become one of the most prominent gun control activists in the country.
“DISGUSTING: Former Rep. Gabby Giffords was shot and seriously wounded 10 years ago. Her husband’s Republican US Senate opponent, @jim_lamon, just put out an ad in which he shoots Mark Kelly and other Democrat leaders,” tweeted Shannon Watts, founder of the gun control group Moms Demand Action.
The former executive director of the Arizona Republican Party, Brian Murray, called Lamon’s ad his “most pathetic” yet. Murray is a partner at Summit Consulting, which is backing one of Lamon’s primary opponents Blake Masters.
“I think when he loses he should start producing used car commercials. He’s perfect for that, and that ain’t no bull!” Murray said in a tweet.

Stop Enslaving Yourself and Nobody Would Have Power to Enslave You
Self-enslavement is the bane of our world today. It’s so easy and normal to knowingly or unknowingly be a slave of our passions and fears and blame other people, situations, or things for our personal lapses and weaknesses that emanate from self-enslavement.
Each one of us really needs to look within ourselves before throwing blames outside, on other people or external factors: before pointing the finger at others and complaining that they’ve enslaved you, search within yourself and ascertain whether you have enslaved yourself or not.
Yes, look within. Take a cold hard stare at the best mirror which is your own soul—it honestly knows right and wrong—and you may find there slavish desires, submissive thoughts, and subservient habits that are enslaving your everyday life.
Conquer these entities so you can be in a better position to stop enslaving yourself. If you can put a halt to self-enslavement, then nobody…

Water Unites Us
Clean drinking water is not a third-world problem but a global problem. Tomorrow is the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. This event honors women’s significant achievements in science, and place a much-needed focus on girls entering Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) careers. Yesterday, I spoke about the importance of our essential workers in education, our teachers. It is time to elevate our minds to a higher level of learning and application.
The 2022 Theme for this year’s observance is “Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion: Water Unites Us.” According to reports from the United Nations:
…billions of people around the world will be unable to access safely managed household drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene services in 2030 unless access progress rates quadruple. Rising demand, poor management, and failure to conserve water resources, compounded by climate change, represent key challenges, urgently…
