Dieser Text ist die Einführung in ein Thema, das mich wirklich interessiert. Es handelt sich unter anderem um ein soziolinguistisches Thema. Es bezieht sich auf die Relativität von Wörtern aufgrund ihrer Stellung innerhalb der verschiedenen Kulturen oder sozialen Gruppen. Daher wird auch ein Blick auf die Definition von das Wort „Interpretation“ geworfen, die direkt an das Thema anknüpft.

Ich liebe Worte. Ich liebe jedes einzelne Wort. Ich liebe es noch mehr wenn ich versuche die Essenz jedes Wortes zu (re-)konstruieren (den „[Haupt-] Kern“). Dabei handelt es sich um eine Sterilisierung jedes Wortes. Meine „Wort(e)-Rekonstruktion“ gelingt nach einem Prozess der absoluten Neutralität. Farbenblindheit fast. Für andere aber nicht für mich.

Es gibt jedoch Wörter, die nicht einfach nur Wörter sind. Diese Wörter kapseln andere Wörter ein, Begriffe und Ideen. Diese Wörter brauchen eine ganze Gruppe kleinerer Wörter, um in den Vordergrund zu treten und ihre tiefsten Bedeutungen erfolgreich zu vermitteln.

Paint the City! An open call for concept designs from Kingston Creative

Despite all the pain and sadness, I love my Kingston…Kingston Creative is building momentum again (when did they stop?) and has announced an Open Call for concept designs. The deadline is just two weeks away – Friday, April 15, 2022. Hurry!

Kingston Creative has launched an Open Call for visual artists to submit concept designs for the latest leg of “Paint the City.” With the sponsorship from the Tourism Enhancement Fund, a division of the Ministry of Tourism, this will see 10 new murals developed along Water Lane, between Duke Street and East Street.

The goal of Paint the City is to create an Art District in Downtown Kingston, the centrepiece of which is a pedestrianised public art walkway connecting Jamaica’s preeminent cultural anchor institutions: the Institute of Jamaica (IOJ)…
