As Animals Migrate Because of Climate Change, Thousands of New Viruses Will Hop From Wildlife to Humans—and Mitigation Won’t Stop Them – Inside Climate News

Over the next 50 years, the spread of pathogens between humans and animals in the wild will lead to the transmission of about 4,000 new viruses between species, their research found, and increase the risk of global pandemics.

“We can’t put this one back in the bottle,” Carlson said of his team’s findings.

Ingredienti: zucchini grandi 1,500 kg., farina, passato di pomodoro, cipolla, fiordilatte 400gr, grana grattugiato 100gr, grana a scaglie 50gr, basilico, olio extravergine d’oliva, sale, pepe.

Clinical trial sees rectal cancer in remission for all participants – The Jerusalem Post

A small clinical trial in New York City sent rectal cancer into remission for every patient that was involved by using a unique immunotherapeutic treatment.

The trial, which was later published as a paper on Sunday in the New England Journal of Medicine, gave all the patients involved the immunotherapy treatment “Dostarlimab” – which then stunned doctors as it returned a 100% success rate for all patients in clinical trials. The immunotherapy had shrunk the tumors the patients had much quicker than the medical professionals were expecting.

COVID-19 on the rise in Israel again? Fifth jab being considered – The Jerusalem Post

COVID-19 caused 62% of duty-related deaths of US police officers in the first year of the pandemic—a rate that rose to 77% to 82% among minority officers—according to a new study published in Policing: An International Journal.

Researchers from the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) mined the National Law Enforcement Officer Memorial Fund database, which tracks law-enforcement officers who die while on duty, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics for 2020.

FDA advisers recommend Novavax COVID vaccine for emergency use | CIDRAP

If the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) accepts the group’s recommendation and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advisers recommend it, Novavax would give the United States a fourth vaccine to battle the virus. The Novavax vaccine is already approved for emergency use in other countries, and US officials hope that a vaccine made with a more traditional process might sway some who have been hesitant to be immunized against COVID-19.
