About me- Sobre mim

Coisas da SIL

Eu gosto do meu interior
Lugar de paz e tranquilidade pra mim.
Aqui me inspirei a escrever no início
Na verdade a vontade já existia em mim
Aqui só abri a janela e sorrir
Pensei e sai escrevendo
Horas lendo
Horas conversando
Horas entendendo
Horas vivendo
Horas sobrevivendo

Alguns dias vinha cheia de sentido
Outros sem juízo
Dos pensamentos
Dos excessos
Dos exageros
De viver uma vida agitada.

Aprendi aqui a sumir de mim
A interiorizar o que vejo
A interpretar os sons
A deduzir as cores
Os ventos que uivam e ecoam até mim
E assim aprendi a escutar e silenciar.

Aprendi a conhecer as falas dos animais
Os encontros dos pássaros
As galinhas que visitam
As folhas das árvores quando se batem
Os sons dos bichos que não se vê na natureza
A bela sintonia que a mata traz.

Aprendi aqui no lugar onde criança cresci
Busco fazer…

Draft 8 is Done, Project Do Better Needs a Logo

Context, Thought, and Learning: ShiraDest Offers Project Do Better

Any ideas for a logo and book cover for this project would be most greatly appreciated, and I’ll be delighted to upload the final  pdf of Draft 8  if anyone wishes to do a quick Beta Read for me before publishing.  This book, based heavily on the work of Eleanor Roosevelt and the words of her husband FDR, manifests the policies and aims of Project Do Better.
Any help with picking a book cover or logo from the public domain commons is greatly appreciated, Thoughtful (Beta??) Readers.
Shira

Review of 12:21 -Learn Language & History to Save The World?

Context, Thought, and Learning: ShiraDest Offers Project Do Better

Another book I found in a box while learning French, so my French review is short:

J’ai trouve interesante le connection entre le deux facons de penser: medicale et antropologique;

Date Universelle: mardi 7 Nov. 12014 ere Holocene

And a bit longer in English:

I liked the connection made between medical (hard science research) and linguistic/anthropological (soft or human sciences research) ways of thinking.

&   I also found the idea of each person getting an animal totem with which he/she completely identified at birth, an interesting one. It’s like having your own personal role model from the day you are born. If it is the right one for you, and does not limit you, then it can be a good anti-dote to the conformism of modern society. Maybe.

Peace, ShiraDestinie

Pensamentos.me/VEM comigo!

♫ Imagine ♫

Filosofa's Word

I seem to play this one at least once every year, but it never becomes dated, never loses its relevance to what is happening in our world.  In the past, I usually only provided the song, along with my own commentary, but no trivia.  This time, I thought I’d add a bit of the history of the song.

John Lennon wrote and recorded this song at his Tittenhurst Park estate in the English countryside where he and Yoko took up residence in the summer of 1969. When they moved to Tittenhurst, The Beatles hadn’t officially broken up, but they were on the outs and would never record together again (the last Beatles photo shoot took place there in August, 1969).

In early 1971, Lennon worked up songs for a new album – Imagine was one of them. In May, he summoned several of his musical cohorts to Tittenhurst to record…
