Heroic Things

The Twisting Tail

I think that we all do heroic things, but hero is not a noun, it’s a verb.

Robert Downey, Jr.

No, I’m pretty sure it’s a noun.

Three Nouns:
chaos lion wolf

Caught
between
a lion and a wolf
I pause
And in the chaos
that ensues
I
am the only one left alive

Different Types of Nouns:

  • Common Noun
  • Proper Noun
  • Abstract Noun
  • Concrete Noun
  • Countable Noun
  • Uncountable Noun
  • Compound Noun
  • Collective Noun
  • Singular Noun
  • Plural Noun

Three Nouns:
hell village sheep

The pit in the centre of the village is hungry.
The weekly monetary offering no longer silences the roar.
We have agreed we would sacrifice the livestock. Smallest first, leading up to the larger beasts, sheep and cows.
But somehow we know, eyeing each other, that only a human soul will be enough to silence the damned hell hole this time.

Justiça

Pensamentos.me/VEM comigo!

Todavia, torno a…

Autoconfiança

Pensamentos.me/VEM comigo!

Trump Judge Temporarily Blocks LGBTQ Protections

Trump appointees corrupt justice to reflect their toxic political beliefs.

Scottie's Playtime

The New York Times reports:

A federal judge on Friday temporarily blocked the Biden administration from enforcing directives that extended civil rights protections to L.G.B.T.Q. students and workers. The ruling comes roughly one year after a group of 20 conservative state attorneys general filed a lawsuit against two federal agencies for their interpretation of the 1972 landmark civil rights statute known as Title IX.

The lawsuit filed by Herbert H. Slatery III, the attorney general of Tennessee, and joined by 19 other states contended that the government infringed on states’ powers to regulate their public workplaces and schools. The judge, Charles E. Atchley Jr. of Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, an appointee of former President Donald J. Trump, sided with the plaintiffs.

Portuguese cooperative installs solar for nonprofits, homes

Darcy Hitchcock

Copernico raises money from investors to install and manage solar installations. They focus on institutions that benefit society and already have 33 installations around the country: kindergartens, churches, homes for people with disabilities, hospitals, and even homes.

Sampling of projects from their website.

The customers get the solar panels for free and still save money on energy.

“Not only have we radically reduced our own electricity bills, we also earn around €5,000 ($5,290) a year with the energy that we feed back into the public grid,” said Luis Besugo from the aid organization APPACDM. The group looks after people with disabilities and also runs kindergartens in the greater Lisbon area.

Investors earn three percent, better than bank saving instruments, but far below typical investments. Despite that, they have no problem finding investors.

♫ Everybody Wants To Rule The World ♫ (Redux)

Filosofa's Word

I last played this one almost three years ago and, struggling for an idea tonight at nearly 3:00 a.m., I thought it a good one to redux because … because … well, the one I thought about doing just would not have worked out at all, which left me flailing in a black void as I was about 3 years ago and …

03 October 2019

Oddly, I had no song in my head tonight.  I always have a song in my head, for Pete’s sake, even if it’s nothing more than the theme to the Rugrats cartoon show!  But tonight, I think possibly because of extreme angst brought on by reading the news for several hours today, I had no song … all the music had been chased away by the bad guys.  Well, I just won’t do a music post, then.  I’ll go take a shower and work…
