Breathing for a better sleep

Raffaello Palandri's Blog

It is a scientifical fact that good, sound, and sufficient sleep are essential to promote the well-being and healing of our bodies, minds, and souls.

Sleeping well, without interruptions, can improve your mood and grow your concentration, problem-solving ability, and creativity.

In today’s hectic life a crescent number of people find it difficult to sleep well and/or to easily fall asleep.

Sleeping badly has many negative effects on us like as: reduction of our attention span and creativity, mood alteration and instability, memory issues, and weight gain.
Those more affected by insomnia are women and older adults.

Breathing and mindfulness could help you fall asleep more effectively and, even more important, stay asleep all night long.

Of course, there are some habits we could get and some others we should get rid of to help this process, as…

Mississippi Response to the Carolyn Bryant Warrant (or Lack Thereof)

Ospreyshire's Realm

Screw this blogging hiatus. I’m staying on top of this story.

I’m keeping my eyes peeled for any updates or any angles to the recently discovered warrant buried in a Mississippi courtroom since 1955. There have been some protests including a symbolic eviction notice to the last known address of Carolyn Bryant (assuming if she still lived there) and there was a spotting of protesters showing up at a nursing home that she supposedly lived at, too.

I wondered how the legal process would play out other than the DOJ sitting on their hands, so I thought about the legal stuff on the state level. If Bryant gets charged, she would definitely have to go all the way to MS from North Carolina since the crime happened in the Magnolia State in the town of Money (seriously, that’s sadly the name of the town where Emmett Till was murdered). The…

Don’t Count Me Out

From Behind the Pen

The other night I watched the movie “Burlesque” starring Cher and Christina Aguilera. The song Cher sang, “You Haven’t Seen the Last of Me,” is one of my battle cry songs. To all of you who feel like you’ve been brought down to your knees, to the point of breaking (I am included), I employ you to stand up, straighten your back, and fight for self-preservation of your mind, body, and spirit. When they count you out, no matter who “they” may be, count yourself in. It may not happen overnight, but vow to strengthen your warrior spirit, be victorious, and do it for you. No time to give up now!

Shopping for an EV? Ask about V2G.

Darcy Hitchcock

Have you ever bought a computer or tablet only to find out the manufacture is releasing a new feature that your new device can’t do? This could happen to electric vehicle buyers.

Electric cars can all take power from the grid, but some can put power back into their homes or the grid. That feature is referred to as V2G (vehicle to grid.) This will become an increasingly popular way to save or actually make money with your car.

Currently, only Nissan electric cars have the right technology to support the bi-directional charging needed to support V2G. But over the coming months, more V2G-enabled cars will hit the market, starting with VW which will start delivering its first V2G equipped EV models to the UK at the end of the year. Meanwhile, Hyundai is working on a V2G-enabled EV model.

Marie Hubbard is participating in a pilot project in the…

Rose Tinted Glasses Please. | Filosofa’s Word

Our dear friend David has written an uplifting piece today that is a perfect accompaniment for this morning’s ‘good people’ post. If everyone took the advice he offers here, the world would be a much nicer place. Thank you, David … and you just keep those hugs coming, okay? 🤗

OCC-Consumer-Alert-Duke-Electric-Rate-Increase-2022 | Office of the Ohio Consumers’ Counsel

Duke is asking the PUCO to approve a $55 million electric rate increase for 657,000 consumers. The Ohio Consumers’ Counsel, your state advocate, will recommend that the PUCO approve a rate decrease (not an increase) of at least $1.4 million for Duke’s consumers. The PUCO will decide how much Duke can charge you for electric service, after it hears from the public and case participants.
