the white clouds’ last dream

the last journey
from the desert 
homebound in dreams

a journey beginning
with their last warm breath

descend in sleep

bearing the whip of the storm
howls of the deadly wind

with the hopelessness of immortality
limitless slumber

since they are the past
the future must wait 
line up for packets of instant noodles
in rippling flood waters
