Magic Door Transport Thursdays -La Casa de Papel (Money Heist) P5e6
Context, Thought, and Learning: ShiraDest Offers Project Do Better
Obviously, some doors are not doors anyone sane would want to open, but others:
What a beautiful story of a tragic life being transported elsewhere through creativity: a magical door invented by a desperate mother…
(and Tokyo grows up just a little bit too late, but at least shares the beautiful idea that her mother gave her…)
Great point about needing violence to keep the peace, Palermo (in our current system…), even if you are a Sociopath, formed perfectly for & by this system, just like your non-lover Nutcase.
What a beautiful admission by Rio:
“Ya no somos a quien seguir… que vayan a sus casas, por favor.” / “We are no longer worth following…please go home.”
and that shouted response:
“No nos vamos!” / “We will not leave!“
Wow.
Y gracias, Angel, otra vez: “

Unicorn Holiday Bark
What’s Cooking in Gail’s Kitchen? Delicious Holiday Foods: Unicorn Holiday Bark! Everyone remembers a childhood of mythical creatures, especially the unicorn which resembled a horse with a pointed horn spiraling out of its forehead. Some believed it had magical powers in addition to being a symbol of purity and grace. Only a virgin had the power to tame the unicorn, according to art from the Middle Ages now hanging on museum walls. Today the thought of unicorns make us happy. Perhaps they represent childhood dreams, or wishes, filled with hope for a future. It should be no surprise that pink swirls of white chocolate and candy glitter in sparkly hues appear in food to further those good feelings. Think of Unicorn Holiday Bark for your next festive occasion. Kid-friendly, husband-approved.

♫ Where Are You Christmas? ♫
I don’t think I am alone … no, I know I am not alone … in feeling a certain sadness, a lack of joy this holiday season, as I watch what is happening not only in the U.S., but in countries around the globe. Listening to Ukrainian President Zelenskyy tonight, I have to wonder how any of us can turn our heads from the plight of the Ukrainian people and the women in Iran while we go on with our celebrations, delight in gifts both given and received, fill our bellies with traditional treats while knowing that for some, a treat would be heat for their home, a slice of bread for their belly. I simply have no holiday spirit, no Joie de vivre, this year. I am trying my best to don a happy face, to smile at the right times, but inside … my heart is breaking for…

Inner Value – Silent Songs of Sonsnow
“We all have a responsibility to educate our human brothers and sisters. Inner values are the ultimate source of happiness, not money and weapons, whether you’re talking about individuals or the whole of humanity.”

Refugee, faith groups respond to Tennessee Republicans’ uproar over asylum seekers | Chattanooga Times Free Press
“The fact is none of this is new,” she said. “Welcoming and hospitality is woven into the fabric of who Tennesseans are … What is new, and an important first step, is a good faith effort to organize a coordinated response between governments and local process, to ensure that it is orderly.”
“While we’ve seen other governors and mayors who have responded to newcomers arriving in buses from border states, using their power and resources to make the process as smooth as possible, Gov. Lee’s response is really extreme and out of step with his constituents. Everyday Tennesseans don’t need or want a governor who creates a crisis by going on Fox News. We need leadership who is going to live up to our values, who will join the work of our communities and not miss an opportunity to help people get home to their families in time for Christmas.”

Research findings should be “interpreted cautiously,” they said “because the early warning system does not prove vaccines cause the safety outcomes.”
