Win

Kaushal Kishore

😊😊😊😊😊😊

We can win over
everyone in the world,
except the person,
who loses
on purpose,
for our happiness…

Knot

Kaushal Kishore

Contradictions Of “Life”

Filosofa's Word

Just a few of my rambling thoughts on this Saturday night/Sunday morn.  America doesn’t need to be made “Great” again, it just needs to be made “okay” again.  Right now, it is not okay.  America is a study in contradictions.  Setting aside the political contradictions for another day, the societal contradictions are tearing the nation apart.  Taking a look at just one of those contradictions … life.

I find it interesting that the anti-abortionists call themselves “pro-life” when they really are not.  They are quite simply just against abortion and against the rights of women to make their own life’s choices.  IF they were truly ‘pro-life’ they would also support measures to ensure that no child goes to bed hungry at night … in fact, that no person goes to bed hungry.  They would be advocating for help to feed the poor and provide housing for the homeless, they…

♫ My Guy ♫ (Redux) — Filosofa’s Word

Yesterday, I played My Girl by The Temptations, so it seemed only logical to follow it today with this one … My Guy by Mary Wells! Mary Wells’ smash hit My Guy was her last solo recording for Motown. The first female star for the record label and known as “the Queen of Motown”, she […]

Review: The Talented Tenth, by W. E. B. Du Bois, on GED Lesson Plan Set Day 49/67   — Inspiring Critical Thinking and Community via Books, Lessons, and Story

This essay came as a bit of a shock, given how much my Pre-Engineering classmates and I were told that we had a responsibility, as part of the talented tenth, to give back to the community. The phrase was also part of my grandparents’ generational idea of Black uplift, and being “a credit […]
