Was RFK Jr. Responsible for 83 Deaths in Samoa? | Diane Ravitch’s blog

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. visited in Samoa in 2019. While there, he proselytized on the dangers of vaccines. After he left, the number of people getting vaccines declined. 83 people died of measles, many of them children. They were not vaccinated. RFK is not merely a “vaccine skeptic,” he’s an opponent of vaccines.

मुस्कान कल की / Smiles of Tomorrow  – Kaushal Kishore

A faded photo from years gone by,

Makes you smile, eyes twinkle high…

Capture today’s moments, big and small,

To bring joy tomorrow, for one and all…

Quinta,  21 —  *Cuidado, anjo de asas quebradas!   – O Outro Lado

Through Thick and Thin – This idiom has reverberated for as long as I can remember, meaning “through many difficult times over a long period; you do it although the conditions or circumstances are very bad.”

More than we care to admit, we sometimes become anxious and fearful of the unknown. These emotions are real and they contribute to our struggles and contaminate our courage.

As I reflected on the 13 Rules of Leadership from former Secretary of State Colin L. Powell, he gave a clear-cut list of perspectives and advice to follow in the leadership landscape. Yet, I also found these suggestions to be doable for applying to our own lives. We have questioned the integrity of certain leadership positions and power being horribly compromised. It makes us question the legitimacy, conduct, and character of those individuals who have been assigned or elected into these powerful positions.

But fret not, and through the thick and thin of things, we continue to persevere with the momentum of steadfastness and hope. Even when things look like hope is nowhere to be found, you’ll find it, just when you don’t give up!

Secretary Powell’s 13 Rules:

  1. It ain’t as bad as you think! It will look better in the morning.
  2. Get mad then get over it.
  3. Avoid having your ego so close to your position that when your position falls, your ego goes with it.
  4. It can be done.
  5. Be careful what you choose. You may get it.
  6. Don’t let adverse facts stand in the way of a good decision.
  7. You can’t make someone else’s choices. You shouldn’t let someone else make yours.
  8. Check small things.
  9. Share credit.
  10. Remain calm. Be kind.
  11. Have a vision. Be demanding.
  12. Don’t take counsel of your fears or naysayers.
  13. Perpetual optimism is a force multiplier.

Through thick and thin, as crazy as things tend to get, keep going anyway!
