Photos of Trump with His ‘Black Supporters’ Are Everywhere … Can You Tell They’re All Fake?
Seemingly overnight, the internet was flooded with photos of former President Donald Trump seemingly surrounded by adoring groups of Black voters. In one idyllically posed portrait, Trump has his arms around two smiling Black women as a larger group scrambles to get in frame.
There’s just one problem with the photos: they’re all allegedly fake.
A BBC investigation revealed that dozens of photos circulating of President Trump and Black people were AI-generated deep fakes…

Alabama IVF ruling: Hypocrite Republicans likely to bend rules on fetal personhood | openDemocracy

The Democratic National Committee is sponsoring 40 billboards across seven battleground states calling out the IVF ruling in Alabama, and alleging the ruling was made possible by Donald Trump paving the way to overturn Roe v Wade | John Parra/Getty Images for DNC
…Establishment Republicans, meanwhile, seem shocked and concerned at the consequences of the politics they have pursued for decades. Texas’s Catholic governor, Greg Abbott has scrambled to express support for IVF, while Donald Trump has called for the Alabama state legislature to find a workaround to protect it.
Make no mistake: things are only going to get weirder and more dangerous from here.
As someone who grew up evangelical in America’s Bible Belt in the 1980s and 1990s, it was drilled into my head that ‘life begins at conception’ and that abortion ‘kills babies’ from as far back as I can remember.
Over the decades, I’ve watched mostly white, right-wing Christians push state-level fetal personhood bills and constitutional amendments across the country – most of which always seemed doomed to fail…

Open Thread | The Constitution Stands Up | 3CHICSPOLITICO
Now, someone else on another blog said – yes, they did, which is why they wrote those sections in the 14th Amendment that Colorado used to throw the Orange Menace off the ballot. I understood what they meant, but THIS GOP has turned its back on its oath, by enabling and abetting the Orange Menace at every turn. No matter how wretched, or how against accepted norms, there was no policy position, even those longheld supposedly by the Republican Party, that they wouldn’t turn their backs on, in devotion to the Orange Menace. Not one of them stood up against him.
They are presently turning their backs on Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, because of this spinelessness.

The Mysterious Deaths of Putin’s Critics | Diane Ravitch’s blog
There is a strange malady in Russia since Vladimir Putin decided to be the new Stalin. His critics die of a bullet to the head or the heart, they die of poisoning, they fall out of buildings, they commit suicide. In the most recent case, Alexei Navalny died in an Antarctic prison camp, and no one knows for sure what happened. But one thing is certain: he’s dead and can no longer mock Putin or challenge his rule…
