हैरानी / Amazement  – Kaushal Kishore

मलाल नहीं कोई

जो हारा मैं कई बार उनसे

जो थे मुझसे बेहतर,

हैरानी तो मुझे उस जीत से है,

जिसे हारने वाला

हार गया जान बूझकर…

🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀

No remorse for defeats,

multiple times

to those superior to me,

But amazement lies

in the victory, where

the person lost purposely…

Our Generation – Kaushal Kishore

Born in the fifties and sixties, a journey through time,

Childhood in the sixties, seventies, a rhythm so prime…

Studied in the seventies, eighties, nineties’ embrace,

Romance bloomed in the eighties, nineties set the pace…

*

Nineties witnessed jobs, marriage, settling, tales unfold,

Thriving even in 2024, decades of stories untold…

From wired calls to global video’s sweet embrace,

Slides to YouTube, a metamorphosis in grace…

*

Vinyl melodies yield to online tunes’ sweet treat,

Handwritten letters to emails, WhatsApp’s discreet…

Radio’s magic to black and white, color, 3D HD TV,

Video parlours faded, Netflix sets us free…

*

Computers, punch cards, floppy disks once our guide,

Now smartphones boast gigabytes, a digital tide…

Attire transformed, from shorts to jeans so blue,

Always adapting to changes, a resilient crew…

*

Challenges faced, from polio to COVID-19,

Through epidemics, resilient we’ve been…

Transportation transformed, skates to electric cars,

Analog childhood to digital adult avatars…

*

Traversing two centuries, millennia in view,

Pondering the next gen, challenges anew…

The world evolves, breaks boundaries with glee,

A timeless journey of generations, a tale we foresee…

Songs I Like (3) | beetleypete

Be-Bop Deluxe was an English rock band in the 1970s, fronted by the talented Bill Nelson and containing an assorted line-up until it broke up in 1978. Their record ‘Maid In Heaven’ is one of my all-time favourites, but I have featured that on my blog previously.

So here is my other favourite from them. The lyrics are on the video

How Pets Get Along | From Behind the Pen

Pets can do the darndest things. This photo is from my caption writing challenge six years ago. I wrote a few new ones in the poll below, but vote on the one you like the most, and feel free to share your own caption, but keep it decent y’all.

1. Stop playin’ possum and fight like a dog!
2. C’mon big boy wake up! Let’s play!
3. I’m warning ya Mortimer, touch my milk again and it’s my 9 lives against your 1!
4. This is my feline chokehold! Say, Uncle!
5. Dude, you need some Head & Shoulders shampoo for this itchy scalp!

DILATACIÓN – Ventana literaria

DILATACIÓN

Otro segundo más
y la soledad carcome
lo que pesa en el alma.

Sin palabras el vacío duele
en el espacio dilatado
donde se dibuja una silueta.

No hay colores
solo pinceles y blancas hojas
entre tenues luces amarillas.

Una historia a punto de escribir,
un sueño que un día contaré
con los nuevos segundos que vendrán.

LMML.
DILATATION

another second
and loneliness eats away
what weighs on the soul.

Without words the emptiness hurts
in the dilated space
where a silhouette is drawn.

There are no colors
only brushes and white leaves
between dim yellow lights.

A story about to be written,
a dream that one day I will tell
with the new seconds that will come.

LMML.
