Adulthood #atozchallenge #shortstories #children #photography #child’splay – penned in moon dust

I think upon the days when I was able to run in the fields of my village. I had many responsibilities, as all children do, but we tried to make it fun. I never thought about adulthood. I knew I would be bigger and I’d have a job. I didnt consider the number of people who would rely on me. There is my grandmother, my mother, my aunties and their children as well as my wife her mother and my five children. I get up early to bring my wares to the market on the back of a bicycle. While I work, my wife takes care of the children, gathers water, feeds the chickens, and tends the fields. My boys help. The rest of the women tend to the children, the cooking, and any illnesses in our family.

The next few days will be a story about when I was a boy. I hope you enjoy!

Livro – Pensamentos.me/VEM comigo!

Question- – Coisas da SIL

Ah, ver o mar me faz sorrir, me faz cantar, me faz dançar!

The Supreme Court will have to carry this case to term | The Weekly Sift

The mifepristone suit from Amarillo is so embarrassingly bad that even the Court’s conservative majority can’t justify doing what it wants.

The anti-abortion-pill case that right-wing culture-war groups primed to get to the Supreme Court got to the Supreme Court. Oral arguments happened Tuesday, and did not go nearly as well as anti-abortion groups probably imagined when they filed the case. Even Amy Coney Barrett seemed skeptical.

There probably won’t be a decision until June, so there’s no sense going into great detail now. But there are a couple of things worth noting:

  • When you grease the way for a case to make it to the Supreme Court, you wind up with a greasy Supreme Court case. Legally, this was a bad argument that never should have come this far, and even some conservative justices seemed embarrassed by it.
  • US courts continue to entertain notions of “Christian conscience” that are so expansive as to be passive aggressive. The rest of us are expected to change our lives so that right-wing Christians can have a buffer zone around extensions of “conscience” they have intentionally constructed to control us…

Migrants in Iowa wonder whether to leave over a bill that could see some arrested and deported – Los Angeles Times

Des Moines Police Chief Dana Wingert told the Associated Press in an email that immigration status does not factor into the department’s work to keep the community safe, and he said it would be “disingenuous and contradictory” to incorporate it at the same time law enforcement has been working to eliminate such bias.

“I’m not interested, nor are we equipped, funded or staffed to take on additional responsibilities that historically have never been a function of local law enforcement,” he added.
