When Things Shift | From Behind the Pen

You can feel it. You can’t define what it is, you just know it’s approaching. There comes a time in our life when we have witnessed the transformation, ebbs, flows, and transition life offers, and wonder what happened and how we got here. But like a gear on a vehicle (and for those who know how to drive a manual with a stick shift as we called it back in the day) you might wake up one day and have a strange feeling that something is about to happen, and you may have to shift to a lower gear to get a better feel for the new environment conditions. The feeling may not be a bad one, it’s just your spirit and stomach fluttering with an expected uneasiness. There is a seismic shift that we can’t define, we just know that it is occurring.

When things shift and you can sense something is going on atmospherically, we need to stop, take a breather, and understand that our senses are heightened for a reason. Adjusting to the conditions of the new changes may not be something we want to do, but have to do it. So, it may feel like the “Fasten Your Seatbelt” sign has flashed on just in case there is unexpected turbulence ahead.

Legacy of Continuity – Kaushal Kishore

What my forefathers could not achieve,

I have accomplished, a legacy conceived…

What I could not grasp in my fleeting years,

My children now hold close, dispelling fears…

.

And what my children cannot see to the end,

Their children will carry, efforts they’ll extend…

For if there is tradition in action, true,

There is also a tradition in refraining, too…

.

I harbour no regrets for paths not taken,

Nor envy do I feel, for dreams forsaken…

Perhaps I lacked tools, the courage, or time,

So destiny chose my children for this climb…

I rejoice in their joy, in their chosen quest,

Their triumphs bring peace, my heart at rest…

Greater joy will come, if their children persist,

On paths they’ve forged, where dreams exist…

.

In this ceaseless world, never pausing still,

Our pauses mark shifts, generational will…

But with seamless succession, life continues,

This flow defines us, and shapes our views…

.

In continuity, our essence is found,

In this endless cycle, our lives are bound…

For it’s this relentless, enduring chain,

That gives our present its unique refrain…

.

Musings… – Early Morning Memories

Are you a leader or a follower?

Relationships with meditation have changed over time and today I would like to explain the situation which I currently have with meditation.

When I was a child meditation was an alien term and knowing it was through the visiting of several religious places …  The common thing or aspect was all places are immensely calm and composed.

That’s it feeling calm from within is something a child understands by the term meditation..

When I grew a bit more.. understanding the world, studying and analyzing facts most importantly being full of logic …I understood meditation… but someone who made me understand the deeper meaning of meditation is my Grandmother.

My grandmother gave me one tip: sit in front of God, light or anything you prefer for at least five minutes daily. Start with this and eventually you will reach the level of ultimate joy of meditation.

Now you may ask why I am discussing meditation..and when the prompt is something else…
Why because it is appropriately a
Very deep relationship between someone doing meditation or not… a leader and follower even though a very deep and personal choice might vary and change over time… a meditative person is someone who has larger focus and calmness in mind helping to conquer the impossible.

Whereas a non meditative person needs social justification for every ounce of step needed to take..the self clarity might miss and the self doubt might rise.

It doesn’t matter whether you are a leader or a follower, what matters is your calmness, your psychological upliftment and your handling of inner self then only you will be able to enjoy whichever path you choose.
