Some Mid-Week Chuckles … | Filosofa’s Word

I was working on a post … one of my compilations of snark … when I decided to take a little break, give myself a chance to breathe, and I remembered I still had some emails from yesterday to catch up on (actually, I still have emails from two weeks ago to catch up on, but …).  Blogging friend Lbeth, writing as Nutsrok, often posts bits of fun that can evoke a chuckle or even a laugh, so I decided to read hers first, and I’m glad I did!  If you’re in the market for some fun today, be sure to check out her “aging jokes” that are guaranteed to bring smiles, chuckles, and laughter!  And don’t worry — the snarky snippets will be here tomorrow for your reading pleasure. 🤣  Thank you, Lbeth, for giving us all a much-needed humour break!!

Genealogy Roundup, June 5 – Megan Smolenyak

Personal Genetics – I was not expecting to see this today! An oldie, but a goodie. Kevin Kelly weighing in on genetic genealogy.

Ask the Experts with Megan Smolenyak Smolenyak – Hey, y’all, look who I’m going to be chatting with on June 18th! Diahan Southard – Your DNA Guide

Dr. John Philip Colletta Returns from Retirement to Help Students Memorialize Their Family History – Whoa! John Philip Colletta was the first person I took genealogy classes from (a multi-week course at the Smithsonian), and he still stands out. An outstanding researcher and gifted speaker. This is a great opportunity if you didn’t get to see him before he retired!

“No Man Left Behind” is so much more than a slogan to me.

Never Forget | beetleypete

…Operation Overlord, the official name for D-Day, was the most important combined military operation in human history. If it had not happened, and had not been successful, the world could be a different place today.

Sadly, we know that wars continue. But we should never allow D-Day to be forgotten, or to forget the sacrifice of the brave men who died making it possible.

Resilience  – Kaushal Kishore

🌲 🌲 🌲 🌴 🌴 🌴

In the jungle, trees standing tall

are cut down first,

it’s plain to see…

It’s no wonder some grow askew,

finding quiet refuge

discreetly…

‘Betrayal of U.S.’: Jared Kushner blasted for condemning NATO ‘aggression’ in Serbia deal – Raw Story

Former President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner has inked a controversial new real estate deal in Serbia that requires his company to erect a Russian propaganda monument that excuses a brutal ethnic cleansing — and hits NATO for “aggression.”
