♫ What Becomes Of The Brokenhearted | Filosofa’s Word

The theme song from the 1992 Whitney Houston film The Bodyguard was Dolly Parton’s I Will Always Love You, but according to her leading man Kevin Costner speaking at her funeral in February 2012, the first choice was this song, which ended up being used in Fried Green Tomatoes (the Paul Young version).

Yulia Navalnaya discusses Putin, Ukraine, and political ambitions in first major Russian-language interview since her husband’s death — Meduza

TV Rain

On Russia’s defeat:

Of course, no, [I don’t wish for my country’s defeat]. Your question sounds as if Vladimir Putin is my country. But Vladimir Putin is not my country. Vladimir Putin is a man who has seized control of my country. Who’s held on to power for almost 25 years, using any means necessary. That doesn’t mean I wish for my country’s defeat; it means I wish for Vladimir Putin’s defeat as soon as possible, immediately. Both within the country and, especially, after he’s invaded a neighboring state…

Fruit of Solitude – Kaushal Kishore

The agony of solitude,

a mystery just beyond my grasp;

time slips by as I gaze skyward,

day and night, in quiet communion,

speaking to birds and plants

leaves, flowers and butterflies

in their hidden tongue,

weaving folly with a wild wonder…

.

Each beat of my heart

finds a rhythm anew,

a soft pulse, blood coursing slow,

in sync with the breeze’s cool expanse,

echoing the highs and lows

of the most melodious music…

.

In these golden moments…

I treasure my solitude-

a sanctuary for reflection,

a place to greet myself as I am,

in weightless freedom,

to dance free of the self,

to feel and see,

to celebrate this soul,

unconstrained and whole…

.

This is my path,

my grounded grace,

honouring each soul as unique,

with boundaries clear, untrespassed;

perhaps this solitude

is a gift of nature,

a window to a universe vast,

reaching boundless joy

from a quiet heart,

this fruit of self, untouched, at last…

.
