This is part of what Project Do Better is all about: working toward world-wide cultural change, starting in the USA, so that those of us who are born in one place, but called to a different place (or sometimes pushed there) will one day be able to move freely between places, between cultures, and among peoples, without being rejected as the outsider, or treated as the “other” in one or even both places. Learning languages by learning songs can help, perhaps, in this process, but it is really the building of more empathy, that ability to put yourself into the shoes of the other person, that is needed for this task. Not simple, not easy, but doable.
