Those who truly love with a heart so true,
Don’t envy others, nor provoke envy anew…
They wait for their love, even if it’s in pain,
But won’t do anything for just selfish gain…

The image depicts the Chatak, also known as the Jacobin Cuckoo or Pied Cuckoo, a bird that symbolises the onset of the monsoon in India. According to Indian mythology, the Chatak is said to thirst only for rainwater. The poet Kalidasa used it in his work “Meghadoota” as a metaphor for intense longing, as the bird is thought to quench its thirst solely with raindrops. Chatak still continues be used in literary works.
