[This poem addresses the subject of suicide and despair. If this topic triggers you, please do not read this post.]
I’m proud to share that my poem, “A Cry for Help,” has been published today on Masticadores USA. Thank you, Barbara Harris Leonhard, for publishing it! Please visit Masticadores and show them your support. Thank you!
This poem is dedicated to all the men and women who suffer from depression, loneliness, and despair. In the U.S., call the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline at 988 to get help from a trained mental health professional. People in imminent danger of self-harm can also call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room for help.
A Cry for Help
by Dawn Pisturino
A crimson line across her wrist.
A bracelet of blood.
A visible cry for help,
But nobody comes.
She’s all alone again
To face the ordeal of life:
The challenges, the pain,
The turmoil in her brain.
Death seems like a safe escape,
But her body wants to live!
She picks up the phone
And calls the hotline — her lifeline. . .

Right-Wingers Claim Tim Walz Was Not Really a Coach; GOP Investigates Whether He Is a Spy for China | Diane Ravitch’s blog
Fact-checking questions about Walz’s role as a coach
A surprising argument has emerged from some right-wing circles: that Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota was not a high school football coach because he was his team’s defensive coordinator, not the head coach. I asked my colleague Alan Blinder, a font of football knowledge who wrote about Walz’s coaching career *and* answers my questions about sports whenever I have them, to explain what’s what.
Setting aside that assertion’s spuriousness for the moment, our reporting last week on Tim Walz as Coach Walz suggests just how comfortable he is with not being the top dog.
Rocky Almond, who coached basketball with Walz in Nebraska in the early 1990s, said that Walz had “been the supporting actor for his whole life,” recalling a trip to China that the future vice-presidential pick organized. Even though Walz was the group’s veteran Asia hand, Almond remembered a coach who never tried to seize command.
“He just was always in the background,” said Almond, who thought the vice presidency was “the perfect role” for his old colleague’s temperament.
“I think he had the intensity, but it was a positive energy,” said Jeff Tomlin, the Nebraska high school head football coach who brought Walz aboard to coach linebackers. “He was a very good assistant that way. As the head coach, you sometimes have to be an enforcer and really guard your culture and make hard decisions. As assistant, you want to be loyal to your head coach and back up your head coach, and he was all of those things.”
And as for that question of whether Walz should count as a coach at all? Some players on his Minnesota title-winning team still refer to him as “Coach Walz,” and football staffs are filled with specialty coaches who are, in fact, coaches with headsets and playbooks.
“Defensive coordinator is arguably the most important position on a coaching staff other than the head coach,” the ESPN commentator Paul Finebaum mused to me today. “You can’t win a game, let alone a state championship, without being able to stop someone.”
— Alan Blinder
समाधान / Solution – Kaushal Kishore

🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
Countless troubles linger, and many are left behind,
But dwelling on them, doesn’t bring peace to my mind…
So I wear a smile, let the worries drift away,
Embracing joy, and keeping all doubts at bay…

In America, “Michelle” got loads of airplay in the ’70s and ’80s on soft rock radio stations; its soothing sound helped the workday move by a little faster. BMI, which handles royalty payments for airplay in the US, announced in 1990 that “Michelle” was the third most-played song on American radio, behind two of their other lite favorites, “Yesterday” and “Something.”
Despite all that ‘airplay’, this did not chart in Canada, the U.S., or the UK, but it hit #1 in many other countries, including Belgium, France, Italy, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, and Sweden.

10 Ways To Feel Beautiful – Belladonna’s Flashlight
Do you want to feel like the beauty you are?
Before you read the list below, let’s state the obvious. If you’re having self-esteem issues, shut down your social media account. You aren’t emotionally equipped to handle all the fakeness that you will see on IG, FB, TikTok, or anything else.
The majority of things and people you see on social media are full of crap. There are filters on the majority of pictures. And please don’t get me started on the “I love my husband/ wife so much” posts.
But here are the posts that really get me: Fitness Influencers who set up their cameras and then run by them like they are having the best run of their lives. Knowing damn well, they have to stop, get the camera, and set it up in the new location so they can run by it again.
The shock of my life
Once upon a time, a lady grew her IG account based on false fitness advice. She taught women how to grow their glutes, and then, surprise, surprise, this individual caught the worst infection due to her Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL).
Needless to say, she apologized to her fans, asked for prayers, and exited stage left (INSERT EYE ROLL)

Onwards and Upwards, I suppose!

I hope y’all read the list below with an open mind and will continue to love you just as you are.
Here are 10 ways to help you feel beautiful
1. Practice self-care regularly, whether it’s skincare, exercise, or relaxation.
2. Wear clothes that make you feel confident and comfortable.
3. Surround yourself with positive and supportive people.
4. Focus on your talents and achievements.
5. Accentuate your favorite features with makeup or accessories.
6. Engage in activities that bring you joy and fulfillment.
7. Practice gratitude and positive affirmations.
8. Take care of your health by eating well and staying active.
9. Set and work towards personal goals that make you feel proud.
10. Embrace and celebrate your uniqueness and individuality.
You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!
