Happy Saturday! It’s nice to be back after taking some time off. My poem, “Pedestal,” has been published today on Gobblers & Masticadores. I want to thank Manuela Timofte for publishing it. Please visit Gobblers and other Masticadores sites and show them your support. Masticadores, founded by Juan Re Crivello in Spain, has become a leading international digital platform for writers, poets, and readers.

Don’t keep me on a pedestal

And worship at my feet.

My plaster cracks with age,

And the paint flakes fall to the ground,

A sad reminder of your neglect.

I don’t want to be worshipped.

I want to be touched.

Don’t shut me up in a box

Like some priceless treasure.

I want to be handled and worn. . .

Please go HERE to read the rest of the poem. Thank you!

नींद / Slumber – Kaushal Kishore

नींद अच्छी चीज है, आ जाए तो

सपनों के सागर में गोते लगवाती है…

और न आए तो यादों की दुनिया में,

हौले हौले मुझे सैर करवाती है…

💤 💤 💤 💤 💤 💤

Slumber is a marvel, pure and bright,

It brings me to the dreamland’s light…

And when it evades, it softly guides me,

Thru the realm of deep-seated memories…

.

Be careful She Bites – Belladonna’s Flashlight

I was on a mission to find a shirt with a specific phrase, but then I stumbled upon something that made me feel unexpectedly soft and cuddly!

Don’t you love those moments when you’re out shopping or browsing online, and you spot a shirt with a corny or funny yet incredibly relatable phrase? It’s like the shirt was made just for you, right?

So, I embarked on a quest to find a shirt that said, ‘Be careful, she bites.’ I felt everyone should have received this warning before encountering me.

But then, in a twist of fate, I stumbled upon something that not only changed my mood but also my mental and physical health. It was mushroom coffee. I had seen tons of ads about it, and I must admit, I was skeptical. Could this really be good? Could I really give up my beloved coffee for this?

So I whipped out my credit card and ordered my coffee!

My first cup was a little meh, but then I added in a bit of oat milk and my favorite creamer, and just like that, I was consuming the one thing that was going to change me for the better.

With each warm cup or served over ice, I bid farewell to the bad attitude, the sluggishness, and the gloom that had been weighing me down. And in their place, I welcomed a new, more vibrant version of myself.

Wait, did I just describe myself as ‘bubbly ‘? Me, the one who used to be a bit of a grump in the morning, a little in the afternoon, and a little in the evening?

It’s amazing what a little mushroom coffee can do!

That felt weird to write, but it’s exactly how I feel. My mind is focused on positivity, and my spirit feels light.

I’m not getting paid to promote this product, but I needed to share it with everyone who’s looking for a boost in their life.

Oh, and the best part is the matcha mushroom coffee tastes like a treat!

You could have chosen any blog to read, but you chose mine, and I’m honored!

Trump Agrees to Debate Harris on Fox News, Demands No Fact-Checking

Former President Donald Trump has confirmed he will debate Vice President Kamala Harris on September 4, but has stipulated that the event must be hosted by Fox News and free from fact-checking. (Me: Afraid facts/truth would detract from his lies – weird, eh?)

Atlantic Ocean currents could collapse as early as the 2030s, new research suggests | CNN

…Like a conveyor belt, the AMOC pulls warm surface water from the southern hemisphere and the tropics and distributes it in the cold North Atlantic. The colder, saltier water then sinks and flows south. The mechanism keeps parts of the Southern Hemisphere from overheating and parts of the Northern Hemisphere from getting unbearably cold, while distributing nutrients that sustain life in marine ecosystems.

The impacts of an AMOC collapse would leave parts of the world unrecognizable.

In the decades after a collapse, Arctic ice would start creeping south, and after 100 years, would extend all the way down to the southern coast of England. Europe’s average temperature would plunge, as would North America’s – including parts of the US. The Amazon rainforest would see a complete reversal in its seasons; the current dry season would become the rainy months, and vice versa.

An AMOC collapse “is a really big danger that we should do everything we can to avoid,” said Stefan Rahmstorf, a physical oceanographer at Potsdam University in Germany who was not involved in the latest research…
