Happy Saturday! It’s nice to be back after taking some time off. My poem, “Pedestal,” has been published today on Gobblers & Masticadores. I want to thank Manuela Timofte for publishing it. Please visit Gobblers and other Masticadores sites and show them your support. Masticadores, founded by Juan Re Crivello in Spain, has become a leading international digital platform for writers, poets, and readers.
Pedestal
by Dawn Pisturino
Don’t keep me on a pedestal
And worship at my feet.
My plaster cracks with age,
And the paint flakes fall to the ground,
A sad reminder of your neglect.
I don’t want to be worshipped.
I want to be touched.
Don’t shut me up in a box
Like some priceless treasure.
I want to be handled and worn. . .
Please go HERE to read the rest of the poem. Thank you!
