Project 2025 & Abortion
Everything you need to know about Trump’s plan for women

Chances are, you’ve heard about Project 2025. Organized by the Heritage Foundation and created by a coalition of over 100 conservative organizations, this massive document isn’t just a wishlist—it’s a road map for another Donald Trump presidency.

The brief was written by some of the most powerful conservative thinkers and activists in the country, two-thirds of whom served under the Trump administration. Essentially, the world’s worst people got together to draft a detailed plan for creating their vision of a right-wing utopia—or dystopia.

As Vox wrote, Project 2025 isn’t “a pie-in-the-sky policy agenda full of bold but empty promises..it is crafted to be a list of things the next president’s appointees really can do.” That’s why Trump has been trying to distance himself from the document; he doesn’t want voters to see just how radical his team’s plan for America really is.

As you might guess, that plan has a lot to say about our rights—much of it explicit, some of it more hidden. So, I thought you could use an explainer on what Project 2025 says about abortion and what it means for women more broadly.

For ease of reading, I’ve included a brief summary below, and you can skip ahead to the topics you’re most interested in…

Understanding the Transition – Anita’s Perspectives on Life

Embracing the New Role

As our children grow up and step into the world of marriage and adulthood, we, as parents, often find ourselves at a crossroads. The once clear-cut roles of nurturing and guiding are now evolving into something more nuanced. Welcome to the journey of transitioning from an active parent to a trusted advisor. This blog delves into this shift and provides insights on how to navigate this new chapter with grace and understanding.

The Shift in Roles: A New Beginning

Parenting is a lifelong journey, but as our children mature, the nature of our involvement changes. Gone are the days of overseeing homework and bedtime routines. Now, it’s about offering wisdom without overstepping, supporting without smothering. This transition isn’t always easy, but it’s an essential part of fostering a healthy adult relationship with our children.

Personal Anecdote: I remember the day my son announced his engagement. Amidst the joy and excitement, there was a moment of realization – my role was about to change. The shift from being his go-to problem solver to a more hands-off advisor was both daunting and liberating. It marked the beginning of a new phase in our relationship…

VIAJE A LA INDIA INÓSPITA by Neus Bonet – El plumier de Nenuse

Review: Borders of Infinity, by Lois McMaster Bujold

The last story in a larger Frame story, this one, called The Borders of Infinity is the title story for the frame novella, and is set in a pow camp. It was really good, if also a trifle hard to swallow, with a fragile dwarf managing to take over a huge camp on almost Day 1, but a very good ending to the frame story, nonetheless.

Once again, thanks and compliments go to Fan Artist artfrostedleaf for the Featured Image, found on her Tumblr images, of how seeing the invisible feathers on the equally invisible hat can help one understand how to expand one’s borders to infinity. Cool.

The short story The Borders of Infinity comes immediately before the start of the full length novel Brothers in Arms, review recently published here, and then the other stories in the frame pick up after the novel. Those stories are Mountains of MourningLabyrinth, and then The Borders of Infinity
